Doggy Cards......

Hello! Wow - can't believe it's been over a week since I blogged something! Well, here are a few cards I made for my friend Gretchen. She asked for a doggy Thank You card and a few doggy sympathy cards.
I used a Denami stamp colored with prisma pencils, Nesties, some ribbon and bling!
Here, I used another Denami "sympathy" stamp and scrappy cat pawprint. I added a dog bone brad and my swiss dots embossing folder.
Lastly, I used a Hero Arts background stamp, Nesties labels die, sizzix pawprints die and MS punch.
I'm leaving on a Jet Plane today for CHA in ORLANDO!!! Yah!!!!!! I can't wait. I think I'll be overwhelmed and blown away with all the crafty things at this convention! Hold on to your wallet!!

Tissue Paper Punch Flower Card

Hello and TGIF! Hope everyone is enjoying their day! I know I'm having a great one! I worked on the second engagement card for my friend Gisela. I saw a tutorial a short time ago about creating tissue paper flowers with your punch and I had wanted to try it. I went shopping the other day and when I took my clothes out of the bag - they were wrapped in tissue paper - and it reminded me about this technique. Now I didn't want to use boring white, so I went to my wrapping paper storage and found this red heart tissue paper and thought it would be perfect for an engagement card.

First off I cut a 3" x 3 1/2" piece of white cardstock for the base of the panel. I used my glue stick and carefully laid down the tissue paper - making sure there were no wrinkles. Then I turned my attention to the flower. I cut four squares of tissue and one piece of cardstock and slide them all into the scallop punch with the cardstock closest to the outside of the punch (so the cardstock is the last thing the punch punches). I repeated the process with a smaller scallop punch. I crinkled all the tissue paper up, laid them back out, inked the edges, stacked them and put a red heart brad through the middle. Then I fluffed them up again.

I used MFT's sentiment and wrapped it around the panel a few times. Then I printed their names on cardstock and cut the black cardstock to look like a banner. The middle is popped up. I touched up the black hearts with my glitter pen too. I'm happy with the outcome of the card (Hopefully Gisela will be too!) Here's a closer shot of the flower:

Thanks for stopping by!!

PS: Cindy didn't get the boot - she's just a bit busy at the moment and had to pack up her craft room - so we'll post her projects again when she gets settled :)

Engagement Card

Happy Thursday! Here's an engagement card I was asked to make for my friend Gisela to send out. I started with this cute flower paper by Provocraft. I embossed the Hero Arts stamp with red colorbox ink and iridescent powder. I used my square Nesties and shaded in the square. Then I used a yellow Marvy marker to fill in the flowers and highlighted the center flowers with the glitter pen along with the flowers on the base paper. I used MFT's "Congratulations" and I printed out their names on my printer. I used some orange shiny ribbon and raised up their names on pop dots.
I also took some hints from Splitcoast Stamper's MFT Forum on Photographing Your Papercrafts and I know I already improved!! Have a few more tweaks to make, but I just love that website for guidance!!

Thanks for visiting!!! Maria

Sympathy Cards

My friend Gisela asked me to make her two sympathy cards. I was browsing through the SCS gallery and saw THIS beautiful card by Theresa, I loved how she blended the edges of the card with the pink and yellow - so I thought I'd try it. I used my Inkadinkado butterfly stamp and stamped it directly to the card front. Then I stamped another one with pink colorbox and embossed with iridescent powder. I cut out the wings and popped them up. The sentiment is from Rubber Stampede and I added some bling and ribbon.

The second card combines Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and swirl embossing folders, punches, a Denami sentiment stamp and Autumn leaves flower stamp. I used my glitter pen on all the flower dots and scallop punch dots and added the ribbon and button.

TLC229 - New Baby

Good Morning! It's a raining Tuesday here in CT, so hopefully I can get a few projects done today. Here is a card I made for my friend Gisela. She needed a New Baby card and I used last week's Try a New Technique #229 on SCS. It's a Faux Grid card. I used Marvy Markers and used pop dots on the duck, the bottle and the sentiment. You can't tell in the pictures, but I embossed the "It's a Boy" and colored in with the markers. Inside I used the Cuttlebug plaid embossing folder and an MFT sentiment.
Gisela asked me to make a few more cards for her, so I'll post those shortly too! Thanks for looking!

CPS124 - Doggy Thank You

Hello! This sketch is for this week's CPS Sketch #124. I used another new stamp from Denami Designs, which I bought last weekend at a stamp show. Isn't she cute walking her dogs?? I colored her with prisma pencils and cut her with my square Nesties. The pawprint is from Scrappy Cat and the sentiment is from Rubber Soul. I used one of the many pawprint ribbons I have and the paper is Provocraft.
This card will go to one of my co-volunteers at the CT Humane Society. Thanks for looking!

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming....

Yahoooo!!! My computer is fixed and I (Maria) didn't lose any documents (Thanks to my computer guy -Kevin!!). You would of thought that with my computer down, I would of crafted a ton of cards - NOT. Can't really remember what I've beend doing! But last night I finished this week's Mojo Monday 95 sketch and made a birthday card for my friend.
Cindy and I went to a craft/stamp convention in Hartford last Saturday and came away with some goodies!! I used two new purchases above. The first is a Denami frog stamp and the cuttlebug plaid embossing folder. I used a variety of punches and I colored in the stamp with markers, glitter pen and glossy accents.

Now- below is a grand gift wrapping job done by my friend Nick - he wanted to make sure this got on the blog!! Make sure to notice the over use of scotch tape on the recycled newspaper. What was in the package??? Dunkin' Donuts Decaf Coffee - YUM !

It's gonna be a hot one in CT today - so hopefully I can get some more coloring done!! Thanks for looking!!

Two Project Tuesday

Good Morning! Today I'm posting two cards I completed yesterday. The first one is my first Unity Stamps card. This set is called Shine On. I don't know why I was drawn to it, but I really liked the lamp shades!!

Once again, here's another Magnolia stamp. I received this through an image swap and think Tilda is so adorable holding her balloons!
Both cards are colored with prisma pencils and blended with gamsol. Both cards also started out as Mojo Monday sketches, but I kept straying from the sketch because my images were too large. Maybe I'll try it again today. Thanks for looking!! Maria

CPS Monday Sketch

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July weekend. Here in CT - we had gorgeous weather - finally!! I (Maria) took the weekend off from blog posting, but worked on this card below last night for this week's CPS123 Card Sketch. I used Stemma paper with ribbon I bought at Costco about a year ago. The sentiment is from MFT and Tilda is colored with prisma pencils and gamsol. The doggies looked so nice in their festive bandannas this weekend, that I took a few shots of them. Here's Lily:
Here's Nolie:
And here's Tango - our foster dog:
Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

SC235 - Birthday

I (Maria) had a chance to QUICKLY participate in the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge 235 before heading out to dinner tonight. I needed a birthday card to mail out tomorrow (hopefully it gets to the recipient in time!!) I loved the sketch they provided - using 9 circles or squares.I used Studio G stamps and colored them w/ prisma pencils. I used puffy paint for the beer foam "heads". It's fun seeing how each foam head comes out w/ the heat gun! Some of the participants came up with STUNNING cards if you wanna go check them out HERE. Thanks for looking!

New Stamp Wall !!!

Horray!! My stamp wall was installed yesterday! Yippee. This pretty much completes the room. I love it! Here's the before.......
And the after:
There are some blank spaces on the wall, but nothing a trip to the CHA Super Craft Show in Orlando can't fix!! YIPEE!!! Maria
