Tooth Fairy Boxes

Happy Saturday! Today I'm posting some tooth fairy boxes I made from Altoid boxes that my friend collected for me. They were sitting in my drawer for about 6-8 months and with our craft fair coming up in November, I decided I had to start working on them. I'm pleased with the end result, but I'll be honest....I won't remake these! They took me forever b/c of the sanding, decoupaging, sanding, gluing, ribbon work and fixing the mistakes I made on some along the way. In the end, I made 16 of them and am happy to put them aside until November!!

I used stock paper I had along w/ a Studio G princess stamp colored with Marvy markers and highlighted with a glitter pen. The tooth is an image I got off the internet and added some shading to it.
This is the poem I created for the inside of the box. My mom is sewing little pillows to hold the tooth and that will finish off the Tooth Fairy box!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Kid's Crafting Day

Hi! Been a while since I blogged, but we had a scare with our foster dog on Saturday and he spent one night at Emergency hospital and two nights at Humane Society. We've got him back now and he seems to be doing OK. During this time, I haven't been cardmaking, but was getting prepared to host a Kid's Crafting Day at my house. My Goddaughter Sophia has been wanting to come over and "play" in my room and as the summer is dwindling so fast...we finally picked a day (today). I invited my neighbor and her two daughter's over as well!

We did 6 projects together. I prepared everything before hand and each girl had a plastic bag with all her necessary items in it. I forgot to take pictures during...but before Sophia left, I took pictures of her projects and her with her projects. I used the same paper combination for all the crafts and I felt it worked really well. Here they are!

This is a bag and letter I cut with my (rarely used) Cricut. A cirlce embossed with Swiss dots and a little bling in each corner.

This is the back of the little bag. Used a square scallop punch, sizzix heart die cuts and small heart punch along with a button.

Studio G Princess stamp with MFT sentiment.
1" squares plus heart punches, ribbon & MFT Sentiment
MFT sentiment with punched scallop circles.
Small circular tin with scalloped circle inside and metal initial.

Paperclip with Sizzix die cut flower and initial acrylic circle.

And beautiful Sophia showing off her crafting talents. I had fun with the girls and I hope they did too!! Thanks for looking!!

Tilda with Cherries

Here is a semi-quick card I made last week and forgot to post. I believe I received this image through a swap and colored it in about a month ago. When I was coloring it, I noticed Tilda had cute little cherries on her boots. I didn't have anything else "cherries" in my stock - so when I attended a stamp convention in July, I picked up a DeNami cherry stamp, which I used for the background. Tilda is sitting on some ribbon and the sentiment is from Stampendous.
Tilda and the cherries are colored with prisma pencils and gamsol. Thanks for visiting!

Cleaning off my desk

I finally created cards from the pile of colored images on my desk. These are all images by Motivet - a Canadian company. Isn't she adorable? I bought the stamps at a Hartford Stamp Show. They are all stamped with StazOn on watercolor paper. I used my Marvy markers and aqua painter to color.

There are a variety of papers used but the sentiments are a combo of PTI and MFT. I used some bling and my glitter pen along with Nestibilities and punches. If you have a question on a particular card, let me know and I'll tell you exactly what I used.

Thanks for visiting !!! Maria :)

Two Card Tuesday

Here are two cards I completed quickly last night. First one is for our family's long time business attorney who adopted a kitty from the CT Humane Society where both Cindy and I volunteer. I'm so thrilled that he came to CHS and adopted, so I wanted to send him a card as a "Thank You" and a "Congratulations"
The second card is a Sympathy card I made for a friend's mom who passed away. I used PTI's "With Sympathy" set and Inkdadinkado's butterflies. I colored in the leaves with prisma pencils. The sentiment is from MFT.
The blog's been a little neglected lately, but hopefully the creations will start popping out again soon!! Thanks for visiting!

Mojo Monday 98 - Birthday Card

Happy Hump Day! Where did Monday and Tuesday go to??? Well, it's Wednesday and I'm posting a birthday card I made for my friend Gisela to give away. I used Mojo Monday 98 and it happens to be a contest! WOW! Maybe I'll win :)

I am personally LOVING this card!! I ended up cutting off 1 1/4" off the left side of the front of the card and tied the ribbon on the back panel of the card. That way, the right side of the card flips open, but the ribbon remains. I'm not sure if this is a "type" of technique but for some reason, it hit me to do it this way, and I'm happy with the result.
The owl is colored with prisma pencils and blended with gamsol and I gave it googly-eyes and cut it out with circle nesties and layered on a scallop nestie. On the inside I used a candle punch, square nestie and since I promised it would be personalized, I stamped her name and glued behind a few circle and scallop punches. I finished it off with a brad. The card is finished off with glitter pen that the camera doesn't pick up.

What do you think? Thanks for visiting!

CPS 127 & My First Papertrey Ink card!!!

The addiction of Papertrey Ink hit me very quick at CHA this weekend. Holy Cow! I barely started taking the stamps out of the packaging and I HAD to make a card. I'm just lovin' how the paper, stamps, buttons and ink all flow together. I used the CPS 127 card sketch for this birthday card. The "Everyday Button Bits" set from Papertrey leaves areas for you to complete the image with buttons! How cute! Thank goodness for the gal behind me in line talking about it, or I might not have picked it up. I am so happy I did. I can see a lotta button use in my future! Details below!

Stamps: Papertrey Ink - Everyday Button Bits & Green Thumb, Amuse - clouds

Ink: Colorbox, Memento & Marvy

Paper: Papertrey Ink

Other: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, silver embossing powder for bike

Back from Orlando & CHA !!

Well, I'm back from Orlando and CHA Craft Show. Wow! Is my pocketbook a little lighter - thanks to the encouragement from my hubby :)
I have to admit...I fell in love on this trip..........with Papertrey Ink! Oh My Goodness! I had been on the website before, but just never pulled the trigger...well, I made up for lost time this weekend. This was the most happenin' booth at CHA. I waited in line for about 45 minutes just to get INTO the booth...but it was worth the wait. I got to meet Nichole Heady who I politely informed that I was a "virgin" to Papertrey! Oh, was she excited to meet me! I told her I'd make her VERY proud!! Here are some pics of what I picked up!

First off..count 'em...TEN sets of stamps...(not including the free set for spending over $100)..I brought home THREE free sets!! OH MY! (Made my mom and Cindy happy!) And I also picked up a few ink pads and vintage buttons!

I decided to get the Papertrey cardstock and a few packs of patterned paper since my cardstock never matches my pattern paper and it annoys me! I also bought some ribbon!

Lastly, I picked up a new Glue Arts adhesive runner and replacement cartridges. I'm still getting use to using this one...I hope to come to love it b/c I have a lot of replacement cartridges to use up!

I bought three sets of MFT stamps for Cindy - The Shoe Lover, the Spa Lover and the Purse Lover (not sure of their actual names).
So, the show was a success for me! I had a lot of fun w/ my mom and we had a few "moments of laughter" with her in her "Scoot-around"........especially when she almost took down the Splitcoast Stampers/Mantastic booth!! Oh MY !
