SSC66 - Thinking of you, always

Happy Friday to you!  Hope you had a nice 4th of July!  We did - although the holiday started off a bit rocky!  One of our dogs, Buddy (the brown one in my header) got out of our yard on Tuesday afternoon and we didn't notice until about 10 minutes after the fact.  We went in FULL RESCUE mode and I'm so grateful that EIGHT of my neighbor's plus another friend came to help us locate him.    We frantically searched our neighborhood for an hour, called Animal Control, Police Dept. and posted Facebook posts before he found his way to another neighbor's backyard, who leashed him.  PHEW!!!!!!!!

It's SO IMPORTANT to keep your dog's ID on them!!  After that mega-scare....the 4th went smoothly. We hosted 30 peeps for a bbq. SO MUCH FOOD!!! OMG!

Additionally, on Monday.........I got my new computer, but I'm still waiting for the complete transfer of files to be completed because (GASP)...I have NOTHING from 2011 and 2012 (GULP) loaded onto the new one!

OK - on to the card!!  This is for Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge#66.  LOVED THE SKETCH!
So, I grabbed my Hero Arts dogwood stamp and stamped it twice in upper left and lower right corners.  Then used my prisma pencils to color and a PTI sentiment embossed in white.

Here's the sketch:

My friend Cindy and I are off to meet up with one of my former foster dogs, Tango the Podengo today! I'm so excited!!

Have a great day!

Thanks for your visit!

  4. I couldn't believe that you have an escape artist, how scary to see them missing, but thankful for the help to find him and the neighbor who leashed him. We have tags on Lucky and have him chipped. Love your card, you so nailed that sketch with those beautiful flowers and the way you colored them. Have a quiet, uneventful weekend.

  6. So glad you found Buddy!! That's so awful when one goes missing like that. I know, because several times Rambo has made the "great escape" and we were in a total panic. He's one of those, too, that when you call his name he seems to go in the opposite direction!!! LOL

This is so beautiful Maria....Love the coloring with those pencils. The flowers look so real!

Gorgeous card - and have a great weekend.

  7. Good to hear that you found your pup! Ours is so old now that he barely makes it out so we don't have to worry about him running away anymore. Your card is ever so beautiful. Those flowers really come to life, and they are so pretty in pink!

  8. You picked a perfect stamp for this sketch! If I were to make a second card with it, I'd probably reach for the dogwoods as well :) Gorgeous card, beautiful colouring! xxx

  10. These flowers are amazing. I love how you colored them. You did a wonderful job with the sketch.

I'm so glad Buddy is safe and sound. I now carry a spare leash in my car because I see so many strays around and having a leash makes it soooo much easier on both of us (me and the dog.)
