I used American Crafts patterned paper and cut one inch circles and pasted them behind the upper panel to make the scallop look. I cut the image out of a Nestie oval and layered it on another. I colored with prisma pencils and gamsol but also used some embossing pens for their beaks, feet, eyes and the roses. I added a punched heart and popped it up above their heads. Here's a closer look at the image.
So, on a side note - today is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. I haven't been too serious about giving up things for Lent in the past few years, but since I've been waivering on becoming a vegetarian..........I've decided to give up meat for lent (beef, pork, chicken and lamb). I have to keep my fish option open - so I guess it won't be a full-fledge vegetarian-Lent...but it's a good opportunity to try it! So, wish me luck!!
