C&S112 - Happy Birthday & Cheers!!

Happy Sunday!!!  Hope you have some fun things planned for the day! I'm off to the Humane Society in the morning (we have a TON of dogs waiting for their forever homes) and then.....pretty much nothing the rest of the day!

On Friday I made Jill's birthday card using the Clean & Simple Sketch # 112.  The challenge was also to make a square card. I usually try to avoid square cards just because they require extra postage, but since I handed Jill her birthday card last night.....I didn't have to worry about postage!!!

I grabbed my American Crafts patterned paper and then stamped out three Inkadinkadoo leaves in two different browns.  I tied some twine and popped them up over the ribbon.  Lastly, I stamped a PTI sentiment with PTI white ink.

Additionally, I made this:
Our summer drink of choice is Tangueray Gin and Tonic. But, while in Savannah last week........we were introduced to Hendricks Gin........oh my..........what a refreshing drink! The drink is also garnished with an English Cucumber instead of a lime. Wow - we really enjoyed this! So, we decided to get Jill a bottle for her birthday as well! So, I wanted to dress it up a bit and made this tag, which matches her card.  I did a little ribbon gathering, used an Outlines Rubber Stamp 'Cheers' stamp, and punched the bottom with an EK Success punch!

So, wishing Jill a happy birthday again and wishing you a wonderful Sunday! Thanks for stopping in!
Maria

Naughty blogger. I had a comment all typed up and it gave me an error message when I tried to post it. I'll give it another go and forgive me if you get 2.

I love this gift set. The blue & brown look fabulous. The ruffled ribbon is the perfect touch.

I will have to try to remember to get some of this gin for my hubby. His usual cocktail is gin & tonic.

Have a great day!

Wow, great card and great bottle tag!! Love the blue & brown color scheme! The leaf trio on the card is wonderful, and the ribbon treatment on the card tag is fabulous! Hope Jill enjoyed it!

Have fun taking care of all those pups today!

Your card - and gift are fabulous! Know she loved both! LOVE the way you ruffled the ribbon too. Plus, I really like the brown and blue together. So pretty.
Hey, if you don't have anything to do tomorrow after going to the Humane Society, go help Jill with her present!!! LOL!

What a beautiful card and bottle tag, love how you did the ribbon. The colors are perfect and two of my DD's favorite! Hmm haven't tried that gin, nor english cuke.....I am sure she enjoyed both her card and gift.

Terrific job coordinating these two projects! I love blue and brown together and don't use that color combo nearly often enough.

Sharing a hint: I make nearly all of my square cards 4.25" x 4.25" so they fit into a regular A2 envelope. No additional postage necessary! :)
