Bellarific Friday - Warm Winter Wishes

Well, it's week two of Bellarific Fridays for 2011 and I've kept my resolution to participate each week! (Let's see how I'm doing come April!!).......anyways.........if you live in the Northeast.....you have been getting slammed by Mother Nature like we have in Connecticut.  This morning we are waking up to 3-6 more inches of snow.  That's after having an ice storm this week.  So, in light of that........I needed to create a nice and warm scene on today's card.  I chose "Palm Tree with Moon" from Stamping Bella.
Ahhhh, I can feel myself heating up already!!  I've been wanting to do some masking on cards and this one fit the bill.  I stamped the image on Bella's Bestest Paper with Memento Ink and then stamped a mask on a post it note.  Once the mask was over the moon and palm tree...I took my distress inks and shaded in the pink sky, blue waters and sandy beach.  I removed the masked and colored in the image with my prisma pencils and gamsol.

I wanted to 'warm' the card up just a bit more, so I grabbed my MS glitter and added two shades of gold to the sandy beach.  I finished with a EK Success border punch and a Papertrey Ink sentiment on a Nestie.

I may have to keep this card near my computer until April if this winter continues!!

Thanks for your visit!

It's a lovely card! :) I like the glitter you added to the sand.
You lost me with the masking talk, but your colouring is always done so nicely! :)

Oh, this is gorgeous, you did such a great job, so realistic and so warming. (it is in the teens here with the windchill, not happy about walking Lucky). This gets me thinking maybe doing a nice beach card, no, I will print this and keep it on my desk, you did such a beautiful job. Have a great weekend, stay warm.

Just beautiful Maria! The colors are just stunning. So pretty. Maybe you just need to get out of all that COLD weather and come to Texas to teach me how to color like that! WOW!
Yes, keep this by your desk and maybe all the snow will finally go away!

I love the scene you created. I want to be laying on that beach with a fruity rum drink and a good book right now. The colors you used are so yummy.

(We were below zero when I got up this morning and the news said the wind chill was down to -30 in some spots. My dogs don't even want to go out!)
