Patriotic Birthday Day 1

Our good friend's kids birthdays are on July 2nd and July 3rd.  I try to make them patriotic birthday cards and this year is no different.

Today I'll show you the birthday card I made for Sam:

I guess I was trying to think out of the box with this card AND follow the Clean and Simple FTL#146

The first thing I did was score my card with my scoring board. (Can you see the score marks? Look close!)  Then I masked off everything but where the blue stripes are and stamped it. Then masked everything else and stamped again in the red.  I added the dots with my sharpie markers and added a few glass stars I've had for quite a while.  I finished it with a PTI sentiment.

Tomorrow I will post my Patriotic Birthday Day 2 card!!

It's Sunday and we'll be at the Bridgeport Bluefish minor league baseball game. It's Soldier Socks day and we are collecting socks, baby wipes and sunscreen for our troops in Afghanistan! I hope we have a successful day!

Thanks for your visit!

Oh Maria I love this card - how creative and a great take on the FTL!!
Sorry I haven't been commenting lately - I have been reading your blog though. I have been getting ready to go to New Zealand for vacation and leave today. So I had to make cards through July and get them preposted - busy busy busy!

What a fun card! I love the patriotic look. Your stamping and masking here is brilliant. Love those glass stars, too.
