Hi

My LSS was having a 20% sale off everything in the store in order to make room for new inventory.  Lucky for me, the store is about a mile from CT Humane.........so....occasionally.........after walking the dogs, I'll take a little side trip there.  They know me now and forgive me when I come into the store dirty and smelling like DOG!!

So, while I perused the store...I saw this Hero Arts background stamp that I felt could get some good lovin' in my craft room.  I also bought a random pack of patterned paper.

For this card, I embossed the new background stamp in white, then went to my trusty Distress Inks and laid down some color.

I cut a few strips of the new paper and then everything came to a screeching halt!  After racking my brain, I remembered I had some OLD OLD OLD Basic Grey letters in my bottom drawer.  I pulled them out and they worked kinda nicely.............so........that became the card you see above.

On a sad side note............my poor girl Layla (the middle dog pictured above) is not doing well :(
About a month ago, I ran my hands down her back and she yelped.  This happened twice so I brought her to the vet.  We decided to do xrays and I hate to say..........she has not recovered from the body manipulation from the xrays.  We found that she had a previously fractured pelvis and a surgery to correct a hip problem. (These injuries happened prior to my adopting her).

She's been on a multiple drugs to help her body recover and nothing is seeming to help.  I just brought her to a new vet on Monday and we're trying another set of medications, but now her back legs are swelling up and she's not weight bearing on her back right leg.

I hate to see her in so much discomfort.  I'm supposed to call the vet on Thursday with a progress report, but what I've seen so far.....there's been none.  Wahhhh  :*(

Sorry to leave this post on a sad note..........but I'm feeling kind of sad.

Thanks for your visit!

Maria, this card is just wonderful. It really pops off that paper and is stunning.

I'm so sorry to hear about Layla not doing good. HOPEFULLY she'll rally and be ok. It's always so sad though to see an animal in a lot of pain.
I'll say a little prayer for her.

Oh, Maria, my heart goes out to you. I'm so, so sorry to hear about Layla. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers and hope that she gets better with medication and time.
Your card is adorable. Way to go using up some old supplies. That has been pressing on my mind lately......that I have way tooooo much that I don't use. Love the new background stamp. So versatile. The different color you used is awesome. Need to do that.
Hang in there, girlfriend!

I am so sorry to hear about Layla. It always breaks my heart when animals are hurting and they can't tell us what is wrong. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
