TWO CARDS!! HSS84 & CPS235

I just realized one of the cards I made has to be posted by today - so you get TWO cards today:

Yes - just two more days (or maybe more!!) of my "fall themed" cards to go.  Here's another super clean and simple one using an Inkadinkado embossed stamp with fall-colored Distress Inks and a Papertrey Ink sentiment.

I'm entering this in the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge # 84  - which was "Fall Themed" projects.

**LOVE IT**

Next up is the CPS Card Sketch # 235 - which is the layout I used for my father's birthday card:
I used my DCWV Harvest Gathering paper (love those pinecones with the foil) and a PTI sentiment.  Pretty simple card - my father's not too fussy!!!

Here was the sketch:

OK - if you want to bear with me.........I have a fabulous dog story for you!!!!!  Almost a year and 1/2 ago - we had a Dutch Shepherd mix at CT Humane. His name was Hunter. He was a VERY energetic dog - even at age 10. He loved to play tennis ball and boy did he ever bark if you didn't throw it fast enough.  He was at our shelter a LONG time!   Here is a picture of him while he was with us:

One day after he was adopted - his new owner called the shelter to say he escaped the house. I was on my way home and got a call to see if I would help search for him.  I did and thankfully someone else found him first and turned him in to the fire department and he was returned to his owner.

That was the last we had heard of Hunter - although we thought about him often. Sometimes - no news is good news.....until this morning at 7:45am - when his owner called my phone and said he had gotten loose from the owner's truck while he was on a construction job the day before.  That area was only about 3 miles away from me.  So....I headed out to hunt for Hunter.  I had no luck looking for him for 45 minutes.

The owner called me about 11am and said he spotted him, but Hunter wouldn't come to him.  About noon, Cindy and I headed out for another round of searching.  After an hour - we hadn't spotted him at all.  Where he was loose is HEAVILY wooded - so it was really tough.

We came back home and about 3:30pm the owner said he was abandoning his 3 hour search for him. He had spotted him a couple of times but for some reason, Hunter would not come to him.  So, I decided to head back out to try again.  I ended up taking Buddy with me and drove right to the spot the owner said he saw him hanging out.

Buddy and I walked for about 10 minutes - calling for Hunter...throwing cookies out...and bouncing a tennis ball (which was his favorite thing to do).  THEN............I saw something move in the woods....and it was HIM!!!!!  I got soooooo excited but had to keep calm because I didn't want to spook him.

I called to him cheerfully, bent down, threw another cookie, showed him the ball and he slowly (limping) came up to Buddy and I.  They sniffed each other and I was able to grab Hunter's harness and leash him!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so friggin' excited that I had him!!!!!!!!!!!!  I couldn't believe it!
He was just so exhausted after spending last night outside all alone in the woods - then running and running today.

My husband just happened to call my phone at that moment and I was just screaming into the phone:  "I GOT HIM!! I GOT HUNTER!!!"   :)

Then I called the owner and he couldn't believe it!  He was so happy.  We met at a neutral location and I gave Hunter back to him - after having him PROMISE me he'd do a better job of tethering Hunter when they went to jobs together!!!

Here's a picture of the old tired boy:

Yahoooooooooooooooooooo - I am still grinning as I write this up!!!!!!!!   So glad this had a happy ending!!!!!

Thanks for your visit!

You are amazing, Maria! Spending all that time hunting for Hunter, when even his owner had given up. Kudos to you! SO glad for this happy ending. :)
Love your cards. Fall themes are some of my favorites, so keep them coming, I say. Love the embossed image and the emboss resist and love the clean design. You are so making me want those PTI sentiments. And awesome job with that CPS sketch. Perfect take on it. Your dad is going to love that special card.
Hope you have a great weekend!

You are one special lady with a huge heart, thank goodness you found him, poor little Hunter. Maybe give the owner a harness and show him how to use it. Love your cards so pretty, love the one with the distressed inks and embossing may have to CASE that CAS :) The one for your dad is just so perfect for a manly man, loved the paper so much, I ran to Joann's while they had on sale, got the last one. Have an awesome weekend.

Your card is very pretty, very fall. The colors are just perfect and I love the soft way they are blended together! The sentiment is cute too, I love different fonts. I'm so happy you were able to find the pup, he's a cutie! My poor doggie is going to have to go to the vet this week! Hope he doesn't get away again, sounds like a bit of an escape artist:-) Thanks for playing at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
