LC28 - Distressing - Sew Pretty

Happy Sunday!!!!  Hope you have something fun planned for the last day of your weekend.   I'm headed up to the shelter because I missed yesterday due to my doggy transport.  Then not much more planned.  Hubby comes home from Miami mid-day - so maybe we'll go to the dog park.

Today's card is one of those "I'm not sure I like it" cards but here it is on the blog anyway ;)   I played along with the Lawnscaping Challenge # 28 - which was all about distressing.   I only have one image set by Lawn Fawn, so I decided that my distressing would be the coloring on the card base.

First off - I took my mask from yesterday's card and placed it in the center of this card.  Then I inked up my Inkadinkado polka dot background stamp with Distress Inks and then embossed in clear powder.  I used my dauber to color in the rest of the background and then I removed the mask to reveal the bright white scalloped center!

I stamped my image on the card and then two more times to paper piece the image.  Then I decided to use the banner set for my sentiment.  This is where the card goes all wrong! (LOL).  I used really flimsy paper, so I couldn't pop up the banners.  That meant I had to adhere the banner directly to the card base and then glue down my floss.  It's not horrible...but for my anal retentiveness - this just doesn't do!

But - I still have a lot of trial and error to go and if my mistakes help you crafters out there in blogland - well, I'll make the sacrifice :)

If you want to play along with the challenge - here are the details:
