PDCC#136 - Hydrangea

Good Morning!!!  I have two posts for today!  First up is for The Play Date Cafe Challenge# 136.
This is a color challenge and I came as close as I could using my stash!!

I finally ordered some Penny Black stamps and they came in - so I had to put them to use right away!  I decided to start with the background stamp and embossed it in white on watercolor paper.  Then I took three colors of Distress Inks and painted in the background.  I was 'roughly' following a SCS sketch challenge, but I strayed away from it - so I ended up stamping a PB Hydrangea on watercolor paper and used my Distress Inks again to color in.

I embossed the card front with a PTI impression plate and because it didn't come out that great - I added white dots to highlight it a bit more.  I added some ribbon and decided to leave the sentiment off for now.  One reason is, I wasn't sure where I wanted to put it!!!

Here are the colors of the challenge:

My hydrangeas at home are blooming SO NICELY!  Here's a picture with my handsome model, Buddy!

Stay tuned for my next post!!

Thanks for your visit!

What a lovely take on our colour story, I haven't used distressed inks like this for a while, what a wonderful effect you've created. Really lovely. Thanks so much for joining in the fun with us over at The Play Date Cafe this week!
