I am personally LOVING this card!! I ended up cutting off 1 1/4" off the left side of the front of the card and tied the ribbon on the back panel of the card. That way, the right side of the card flips open, but the ribbon remains. I'm not sure if this is a "type" of technique but for some reason, it hit me to do it this way, and I'm happy with the result.
The owl is colored with prisma pencils and blended with gamsol and I gave it googly-eyes and cut it out with circle nesties and layered on a scallop nestie. 
On the inside I used a candle punch, square nestie and since I promised it would be personalized, I stamped her name and glued behind a few circle and scallop punches. I finished it off with a brad. The card is finished off with glitter pen that the camera doesn't pick up.
