Sending Hugs

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!  I've had a couple of friends needing some hugs and encouragement lately - so I colored up this Penny Black image with my prisma pencils and sent it off to one of them this week.

I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder in the background and my Lawn Fawn banner die cut and sentiment. I actually forgot I had the banner outline stamp so it looks a little bland, but I did ink the edges so it pops out a bit!

Have a great weekend!!!!!!

Shine Brightly!

Happy Friday to ya!  Hope your week is going well so far!  I had to make a graduation card and didn't want to use the traditional mortarboard again - so, when I came across the Lawnscaping Challenge#60, to use dimension - I knew exactly what I wanted to create:

I thought this made a creative 'graduation' card.  I stamped the lanterns on watercolor paper and colored them with my Distress Markers.  I used my Dylusions sprays on the background and then popped the lanterns up for the 'dimension'.

I'm also entering this card in the Sentimental Sundays Challenge#159 to use sprays/mists and
the Paper Players #150 to 'bring on the bling.'

On a side note.......I am ONE MONTH away from my 1/2 Marathon from Napa to Sonoma!  I'm also SO CLOSE to my fundraising goal (and why not try to EXCEED my goal??).  I'm running for Running for Rescues.

Find Your Destination

This week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge#105 is called "Mapquest".  I grabbed my My Mind's Eye paper pack and found this 'travel' paper and thought it was great for this challenge:

I carefully cut the word "destination' from another piece from the pack and used my Lawn Fawn letters to stamp out "Find Your".  I added a Unity arrow and I'm thinking it doesn't get much more CAS than this!

Have a great Thursday!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your visit!

Father's Day 3

Hello!

Here's the third and final Father's Day card I made that Nolie, Buddy and Sweet Pea gave to Frank.

The main image on the front is actually a page torn from a mini book I bought in Washington DC last month. My husband and I say this quote to each other now and then.  It's from a Vince Vaughn movie from a long time ago.

I used a Hero Arts background stamp with Versamark ink for some added interest and some ribbon as well.

Normally - I don't decorate the inside of the card, but I had to this time.

I used a PTI dog stamp in three different colors of our pups and some Simon Says Stamps die cuts with Lawn Fawn letters and a Studio G sentiment.

Buddy (in the middle) would of sent some sentiments to Frank, but he was too busy thinking about bones :)

CAS(E)#19 - Happy Birthday

Good morning all!   Today's card is for the CAS(E) this Sketch#19 and I was in need of a masculine birthday card - so it was a good match:

I grabbed my Skipping Stones wine glass stamp and used my new Lawn Fawn banner die cut! (So happy those came out!)

I added a few score lines and called it a day!

Here's the sketch:

Keepin' it short! See ya!

CAS(E)#18 - Happy Birthday

I'm back with another birthday card today. This time for the CAS(E) This Sketch! #18 Challenge:

I was going for a more masculine card - and I think it works - even with the little bit of bling!  It's a birthday right - so ya gotta jazz it up a little!

I stamped a bunch of Lawn Fawn banners on My Mind's Eye paper, then cut them out and lined them on the rectangular panel.  Added a PTI sentiment and the bling!  Can you see the PTI woodgrain impression on the card base?  It's so hard for me to capture these in my photos!

Here's the sketch but you've only got til noon to join:

Happily ever after!!!

Today is our 16th wedding anniversary!!!!!  I made this card for the Raise The Bar Challenge #130 - but couldn't bring myself to post it yesterday for the deadline!  I didn't want to ruin the surprise!

I embossed this Hero Arts stamp and colored in with Distress Markers.  I used a KSS stamp and then some Lawn Fawn numbers to create a panel.

Here's a look back at February 15, 1997!

Here comes the bride!!!

I now pronounce you........

TSOT#104 - You make Life Bright!

Happy Sunday to you!!!!!!  I'm writing this up on Friday and we're about to get hit with 12" - 18" of snow!  This should make for a GREAT crafting day - but I'm still not 100% so it might turn into a great sleeping day :(.

I did have time this week to play along with the Try Stamping on Tuesday Sketch #104:

This is a Lawn Fawn lantern embossed on watercolor paper and then colored in with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from the Verve and wow - that paper is ancient!!! LOL

Here's the sketch:

Have a great day!!!!!

LC51 - Love from all of us!

Happy Saturday to you!!!!  So Lea was selling a few of her stamps and she had some that I was interested in! I placed an order and she shipped them right out to me!  I got working on a card for the Lawnscaping Challenges#51 - which was an inspiration photo.

If you follow Kristina Werner's blog - you'll notice that I shamelessly recreated the background she did on her MACM post using my Distress Inks on watercolor paper.

I embossed this Lawn Fawn bouquet and colored them in with Distress Inks too.  Then I used my embossing pen and covered the bouquet with clear powder so I could ink up the background with no bleeding.

Such a fun card to make.  Here's the inspiration photo. You have until the 13th to play along:

Have a great Saturday!!

Thanks for your visit!

Altered Canvas

Happy Sunday to you! Over Christmas I worked on another mixed media canvas for a bloggy friend! I got word that she received it.....so I wanted to share it with you!

I'm still trying to find my way with Mixed Media and what kind of style I'm most comfortable with - but for now - I'm really just recreating things I've seen on You Tube videos or other friend's blogs!  This is my FIRST attempt at drawing a person - no surprise there huh??  LOL

I am really happy how it turned out overall.  Still getting use to being very random and loose with design. Hard for me because I'm usually very precise.

What do you think??

SB#25 Friday Sketch - Merry Christmas

Hello!! I'm sure you noticed it's 12/12/12 today right?  Wonder what's in store for us today with that fun date!?

Well, what's in store for you is a doggy Christmas card I colored up on Sunday!  This is for Friday's Stamping Bella sketch challenge.

I started coloring this image up and then my friend came over who has a black labradoodle.  She asked if I could make a card for her vet - so I showed her what I was working on and she thought it was perfect!!

This was fun to color up.  I used a lot of pencil 'whisps' to get the hair dimension. I even used a black pen to make them even more bold.  There are random gems on the snowflakes too!

Here's the sketch if you want to play along:

To stay on the doggy theme - here's are two quick pictures of the Puppy Chow I made last week.  I got the recipe from Iowa Girl Eats and then had to laugh when the recipe is right on the Chex box too!

Believe me - I know these bags are NOT decorated like a crafty person SHOULD decorate them....but after making THREE different recipes (peanut butter, Nutella and soy nut butter) of them......I'd had enough :)    I did use my Lawn Fawn alphabet for the lettering :)

Well - hope you have a nice Wednesday!!

Thanks for your visit!

SFYTT - December Birthday & Year Review

Happy Friday to you - although I'm little sad.  This is the final Sketch For You To Try - December challenge and forever :(   Jen decided it's time to stop the monthly challenge.  But all good things must come to an end, I guess.   So, based on the December sketch, here's my card:
This is a Stamping Bella image colored with my prisma pencils.  I popped up the tag for dimension and then added a There She Goes sentiment.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the card before writing it out.......so forgive the note inside, but I had to share it:
Backstory:  Our friend Nick is a funny guy.   One of his common sayings is:  "I love you, but I'm not IN love with you" - which we just crack up about.  He LOVES LOVES LOVES Cindy's dog Toby (who only has one eye) - so I knew the image on the front of the card would be perfect for him and I knew what I wanted this inside to say too!  So I used my Lawn Fawn alphabet to create the inside sentiment.  LOL - at least I had a good LOL about it :)

Continuing on.............

I submitted cards every month of 2012 for Sketch For You To Try and as per Jen's requirements to be eligible for prizes, we have to share our cards/links for the year:
