April enjoys cooking - she always serves us a delicious meal when we eat over - so I wanted to make her a cooking-themed card! I had the perfect stamp set to use - this is a Darcie stamp set, which I bought back in February and this is the first time I inked it up!
This card took a while because I was creating a scene. So I stamped out the gal, butcher block, mixer and sugar bowl first and colored them all in with my prisma pencils and gamsol. Then I had to carefully cut them all out. For the butcher block, I created my own wood grain by using a sharpie pen. I was pretty pleased with myself! But, then I struggled to put all of these pieces into a "room".
Low and behold.........that night I went blog surfing and what was waiting for me in my inbox? - Heather's card :
WOW - it was like the cardmaking gods answered my prayers! (well, Heather did too!) - So, CASE-ing what she did, I finished up my card using some American Crafts patterned paper and even though it doesn't show on my picture, I used a PTI wood impression plate for the floor. I finished it off by stamping an outlet under the butcher block. So, a HUGE thank you to Heather for her beautiful creations day in and day out and for the inspiration to finish my card for April!
Thanks for visiting!

Beautiful cards :)
So cute, Maria. Your friend is going to LOVE the "cooking" card. And the coloring on it is fab. Really like how you did the wood grain too. Very cute.
This is SO adorable! I totally love the little scene you created! :)
CUTE! I love your scene!
What a fun image for a cook. I really like the wallpaper and floor and even the baseboard and outlet (!) that you used to create a scene.
What a fun card! I love the ruffled ribbon!
