Here are two post it note holders with pens that I made the other day. (Actually, I made 8 of these)
I used the Cuttlebug swiss dots for the cover and Papertrey Ink 'Take Note" set for the sentiments. The apples are from Hero Arts and colored with prisma pencils. Inside are 3" x 3" post it notes!
This weekend - we also helped out Soldier Socks - a charity that my neighbor, Chris Meek, started in order to assist our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. He had a friend in the military and Chris asked him what he could do to help. The soldier said they could use tube socks, baby wipes and sunscreen. So Chris, being the kind of "can do" guy that he is - started Soldier Socks. He begin collecting these items by contacting companies, schools and other organizations for donations. It is amazing how this effort has taken off! So, this weekend, we assisted Chris by stuffing boxes and boxes and boxes full of these items to send off to our troops!
This is a picture of Chris (in dark blue T-shirt) along with other volunteers working the assembly line of box stuffing, box taping and box 'breakdown':
Here's my father-in-law taping the boxes shut and putting on the address labels:
And here is a shot of just 'some' of the boxes going overseas to our troops!!!
If you have a moment, go to the Soldier Socks website and see what a difference this effort is making!!
Thanks for visiting!!! Have a great day!
