Well, on this One-Year Anniversary of Layla joining our family - I thought it would be appropriate to share a picture from her first day here. Looks like she's smiling and saying 'Thanks', right? I can't remember if this picture was before or after she bit my foot that first day!? Either way - I knew it would take her some time to adjust and learn that OUR family would never hurt her and that she would not have to fear being abused. Her guard was definitely up for about the first three months, but slowly, she has become a new dog.
Even though this is the fourth day of showing my scrapbook pages, this was the first one that I actually did. I went to Page Maps for help with the layout. That site is GREAT for scrapbook AND cardmaking layouts. I've printed off a punch of their .pdf files and when I'm struggling for a layout - I reach for those files.
All the paper used is from DCWV "Dogs" paper pack that my mom found for $3.00 at Marshalls. Gotta love her!!! The ribbon and the 'leash' were from my under-used doggy stock!! The letters are cut from Sizzlits alphas: Curly Girl and Rat-a-Tat (I think that's what it's called).
Thanks for letting me stray from my cardmaking for a bit! Hope you've enjoyed the pages. Most of you know I'm a proponent of animal rescue - so please, if you are looking to add a pet to your family - please check out your local shelters, rescues or look on Petfinder!! Do not buy from pet stores!!!!
Thanks!!

Another outstanding page and layout. I would say that Layla is most definitely smiling at being with such a wonderful family.
Look at you, Maria! Rockin' the scrapbook, too! Beautiful LOs and love love the pics! So many blessings in your home!! So thankful there are people like you and Cindy to help out with the REAL WonderPets!! Hugs to all!
Your page is just great - and yes, Layla does look like she's smiling (Rambo smiles too so I know what you mean). Like that paper and so sweet of your mom to think of you when she saw it.
And "hugs" to you for all you do for the animals out there that are abused, have no home, just need some extra love, etc.

Oh look at that face! I just want to give her a kiss on the nose. Great photo. Love the layout. I don't mind that you are switching it up a bit.
I love your photo and your beautiful layout!! Your colors and details are beautiful!!
I agree - Layla looks like she's happy to be with your family. I like the embellies you used here.
