Ladybug Birthday cards

My wonderful neighbor Jeanne asked me if I could make her two ladybug cards for her friend's twins 1st birthdays.  I looked through my stash and there was no ladybug to be found. I went to Michael's and they had three ladybugs, but none that I really wanted to invest in.  So, I came home and looked through the SplitcoastStampers gallery and came upon THIS card by rockybloky and used it as my inspiration.

First up is Paige's card:

To make the ladybug, I punched a two inch circle out of red and one out of black.  I found the center of the red circle and cut a pie piece out and glued the back to the back of the red.  I then punched a 1 1/2" circle and cut it in 1/2 and used it for the head.

For the antenna's.....I had wine charm wire in stock, so I bent one end, threaded beads on and then bent the other end and glued them to the back of the head.  I added the google eyes and seed beads for the ladybug dots.

I free hand cut blades of grass and then cut out letters from my Sizzlits and embossed a PTI sentiment.



For Lauren's card - the ladybug was made the same way, but I used a Cuttlebug frame background and a different PTI sentiment.

This was a fun project and I am actually surprised how fast I was able to put these two cards together!!!
