Aug SFYTT - Enjoy the Ride

Hi!  It's been a loooooooong Saturday.......started at 7:30am shoveling woodchips in two dog pens at the Humane Society. Did that till about 9:45am.  Then headed up to a local high school to help set up a pet friendly evacuation shelter. Went back to Humane Society to walk dogs for an hour before I got the call that Bridgeport needed help ASAP setting up two pet friendly evacuation shelters.  So I went up there and stayed till 5pm. We only took in 3 dogs while I was there. Came home to a beautiful dinner with about 10 guests at our house. So happy my husband hired our go-to catering gal to help since I arrived home only 1/2 hour before our guests were to arrive.  Now it's 10:20pm on Saturday night and I'm going to bed. Hopefully Irene doesn't hit too hard.  If we have power tomorrow, I'll start returning blog visits.......but here was the post I set up earlier on Friday:

Hello!!!  I'm finally posting my August Sketch For You To Try from Jen Del Muro.   I made this card in the beginning of August - right when she posted the challenge and it's been sitting in my 'to be posted' area!

This is the first time I colored up this Stamping Bella/Mo Manning image.  He always seemed like he was going to be a challenge for me to color, but it ended up OK.  My hardest part is actually figuring out what my stamped people are going to wear!!! LOL

This was a fun sketch!  You still have a couple more days to play along if you like!!

Hurricane Irene is 'supposed' to hit us very hard today (although I'm typing this post up on Friday). I hope we don't suffer TOO much damage on the East Coast!

If I don't return any visits, that means we have no power!

Be Well!!!
Thanks for your visit!

I have been watching the storm closely and spoke to my son Saturday night, he is in RI and hanging in there, but by himself :( . My goodness you were one busy lady and so glad hubby had the dinner catered to make it easier for you. Hope you don't get much damage. Your card is adorable and you did an awesome job coloring this little guy having fun with his bike. Love the color combo. Stay safe.

Oh Maria....I hope you guys are ok up there! I've been reading all about the power outages, wind, rain, etc....and thinking of you.
Your card is precious with that cute little guy on it. Coloring is fab, as always.....and yes, I never can decide how to color clothes on images. Very hard for me - but you did wonderful!
I'll be thinking of you and hoping all is well.

Hope you have fared through the storm okay, Maria! I've heard so many people have lost power around New York. We got so lucky here in NC...just a little bit of rain and wind yesterday, and blue skies today.
Sounds like you had an amazingly busy day yesterday. Good for you for getting so much accomplished. I just sat in my pj's all day. :)
Your card is absolutely adorable! Love the stamping, and your coloring is amazing. So love the color combo here. Your take on that sketch is just perfect. Love this!
