I had never heard of this technique, but you emboss the first layer in clear powder (twice if you prefer). Then you take a solid stamp and use a colored embossing powder and stamp it over the clear. When you heat up the colored powder, it melds into the clear layer.
Here's a close up shot:
For the details of the card, I used a Memory Box patterned paper for the clear embossed background and an Inkadinkado butterfly for the black embossed layer. I laid that on a Tim Holtz embossed background and added a Hero Arts sentiment
I'll admit, I had to try this technique twice. The first stamp I chose didn't work out too well. I suggest definitely using a solid stamp for your colored embossing powder layer - if you chose to try this!
Have a wonderful Monday!!!
Thanks for your visit!

This is an amazing card, love how the embossing looks, great job. Loving the colors as well with the greens and turquoise. The banner is perfect with it popped up next to the beautiful bow. Hope you are doing alright today, continued prayers for you and your family. Give the puppies a belly rub.
Such a charming and vintage card.... thanks for sharing the site. Will give it a try.

Very cool card-I thought about trying this when I saw the weekly inkling, too. Thanks for the tip about picking a solid stamp!
