Fall Birthday Wishes

My friend Jim has probably been wondering when HIS birthday card was going to make the blog!  I only made him wait a week!!!  Here it is Jim!

I took one of my DCWV Harvest papers and cut it into 4 1/4" x 1/2" strips and then adhered them down to a brown card base.  I made sure to adhere them down in the correct order so the patterned stayed correct.

Then I totally CHEATED!!!!!!!!  I have a bunch of beautiful leaf stickers...so I put the sticker on a piece of cardstock and then cut around it, so I could pop it up .  I do love the look, though!  I cut out a Sizzix label and used a PTI sentiment.  Layered some buttons and my 'male' fall-themed birthday card was complete!!

I hope Jim liked it - because I sure did!!!

And - the best news ever (since finding Hunter that is)........PINKY got adopted yesterday!!!!!!!! Pinky was my deaf foster dog we had this summer.  I'm cautiously optimistic and pray they fall in love fast and give her a chance!!!  But - I'm still thrilled!!!!!

Thanks for your visit!

Fantastic card, Maria! I love the strips of paper-such a nice masculine look and something a bit different than just using a whole square.

Horray for the happy news about Pinky, too! :)

GREAT fall birthday card! Love that leaf even if it is a sticker (LOL) So pretty the way you matched up the pattern in the background paper too. I know your friend loved the card.
So glad Pinky got adopted! Hopefully it works out for both owner and dog!

I loved this card... It is great looking in person. Of course now that I know the leaf is a sticker and not a handcrafted piece of art I may be a little less impressed:)
Congratulations on the news about Pinky... I love Pinky, I am sure her new owners will realize what a doll she is!

Great card, Maria! Love, love what you did with the patterned paper. And great use for that leaf sticker, too. Don't you love it when things come together that easily?
Great news about Pinky! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for her. :)
