Finally 40!!!!!

I know a bunch of my friends have been waiting for this day for quite a while!!!!!!  Some of them have been in their 40's for a few years now and would say to me "When are you finally turning 40??"...Well......it's today!!

Yah for me!  Thankfully, I'm one of 'those' people who really don't care about 'age' - so I'm celebrating 40 instead of hiding from 40!!!

What better way to celebrate? A card.........a holiday card!  (that doesn't make sense - huh?)  Well - I had to get this one posted...so that was my lead in. No judgement - it's my birthday!!  :)

The Less Is More Week 39 challenge was "stars".  I made this card last Saturday, right after the challenge came out.  I knew I wanted to use this Hero Arts reindeer!  Isn't he cute??

I first started out by embossing a Hero Arts stars and snowflake background stamp with clear powder.  Then I used my distress inks to color in the sky.  I stamped the reindeer once on the card and once again on a scrap piece.  I colored him in with distress inks and cut him out.  I used teenie tiny seed beads for his red nose.  I finished it off with a MFT sentiment and some stickles on the snowdrift.

So tonight we're off to a local restaurant to have dinner for the BIG birthday. I'm really excited because one of  the former Sacred Heart University softball players just graduated from pastry school and I asked her to make my birthday cake!  Can't wait to see what she's come up with!!!

Before I go - I wanted to post the beautiful card my mom made and sent to me using a Stamping Bella image:

Thanks for your visit!

Oh, wish I knew it was your birthday, well it is on my calendar for next year my dear :) Well, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you.....:) can't wait to see the cake your friend makes for you and it sounds like a wonderful day. You mom's card is so sweet, she did such a wonderful job with the colors and the coloring of the image. Your Xmas card is perfect for the challenge, love how you did the sky and the little reindeer. Have a great day and you are right it is only a number, it really is all about how you feel.

So sorry I'm late in wishing you a very happy birthday, Maria! I hope your day was wonderful and that you enjoyed every moment. And welcome to the "over 40" club. ;)
Your card is just adorable. LOVE that reindeer. I think the background is just fabulous, too. I love the snowy swirl around the deer and I love the icy hill. Really sweet!

Your post made me smile, Maria! You are too funny! I know I am late...and I already said it two comments ago...but I'm saying it again: Happy Birthday! (If I say it twice, hopefully it makes up for the belated wishes, a little) Hope you had fun celebrating the fabulous 4-0 and wising you all the best in the coming year. Hugs! :)
