I came across the Card Patterns Sketch #158 for this week and thought it would make a nice layout for the masculine birthday card I needed to make. We have a friend who enjoys fine wine, so I grabbed my Skipping Stones set to use for his card.
I stamped and embossed the wine glass on water color paper and used my distress inks to color it in. I put glossy accents over the entire glass too.
I used a Lawn Fawn banner to put my sentiment on and the inside of the card reads "Or rather, we feel better about our age with lots of wine!"
You have until Friday the 30th to use the sketch! Come play :)
Oh - things went our way in court! Yah - tenant has to be out by April 30th.
The vet said Sweet Pea did good in surgery too. I didn't get to speak with the surgeon. I have to call today at 10am to get an update and what time I have to pick her up! Thanks for all of your kind thoughts :)
Thanks for your visit!

gorgeous, I too love a glass of fine wine, my favortie is Chateau Morrisette's Sweet Mountain Laural........so fruity and good LOL, and just $10.00 a bottle LOL
VERY elegant and beautiful card Maria! LOVE the entire look of this beauty.
Glad all went good in Court and give Sweet Pea a hug for me when she gets home!

Glad everything went well with court and surgery, sounds like a perfect day. Loving the card, this is exactly what a wine lover would want for a birthday card. I am loving Tim Holtz has the instructor, he spends so much time explaining everything, on the "flick" after adding embossing powder that is actually a no no, I have found out, you should tap the paper on the table, never flick because too much powder will come off. You can probably get this class even after it is over, you just wouldn't get the vendor discounts and enter cards into the gallery, but he does two videos one explaining and one a project for about total of 30 to 40 minutes, awesome stuff on this one.
Your card turned out very nice from this sketch... That glass of wine looks so real...really!!
Great card for a man with the colors... but I can see it being a lovely ladies card too with a little color change... Very nice!!
So glad to hear all went will in court and that Sweet Pea is OK too!!!
Thanks for stopping by my place and leaving such kind words!!!
The wine glass is so temptingly real - your friend will be very impressed with this card... and the paper is swell.
