Hero Arts - Happy Easter

The Hero Arts Blog is hosting it's April 2012 challenge.  There are a bunch of ways to play along - either follows their sketches, make a shaped card or a card with a sunshine or showers theme.   I decided to follow one of their sketches to be entered in the challenge.
I started by heat embossing my H.A. chevron stamp in white on watercolor paper.  I followed the Less Is More inspiration colors - (even though I can't enter this card in their challenge because there's not much "Less" in this card.)   I used my Distress Inks and then spritzed each panel with water and Perfect Pearls.

I stamped the squirrel from a H.A. set and colored him in quick with my Distress Inks.  The sentiment comes from a Studio G stamp.  This card definitely looks better in person because of the glimmer.  I know squirrels aren't known for "Easter" but if you saw how many there are in my neighborhood - you'd say he's pretty appropriate!!

Come and play at the Hero Arts blog and Flickr Group.   Here's are the sketches:

And here's the Less Is More inspiration picture:

I'm ALSO going to enter this in the "A Blog Named Hero" Challenge #1 - which is to make a project using your favorite Hero Arts stamps.  Since I have so many - I'll be entering a bunch of cards!!

Hope you have a great day!!!

Thanks for your visit!

Very refreshing to see a squirrel, honestly instead of bunnies... Very lovely card and I am sure it shines in real life.
