Wedding Congratulations

Well, it's a GORGEOUS Labor Day and I just spent 4 hours outside on my patio coloring up some images for cards I have to send out. For me, there is nothing better than sittin' out there under the umbrella just coloring away (OK - well, there are a few things better.........like a big bowl of ice cream not followed by guilt, walkin' my dogs in the park, hangin' with my hubby)......but you get my point right?

One thing that could get better is this picture!!! Ugh! I hate when I'm rushing and I have to take a quick picture, I mail the card out, THEN upload the picture to find out it didn't come out well.  What a disappointment......
So, I don't think you can tell in this picture.........but this is a wedding card for two girls. Can you see the veils on each of the owls? I was so excited to come up with this idea for this card. Now in CT, same-sex marriage is legal - and I for one am happy about that.  This card was for Brooke and Sarah, the two gals that adopted Tango, the foster dog we had for 5 months.  They are a wonderful couple and sadly, we weren't able to go to their ceremony, which was the weekend we were in Louisiana.  But, we sent them out this card.

For the details of the card.......I used Hero Arts owls and colored them up with prisma pencils. I did NOT use gamsol.   I just blended color over color until I was happy with the blend. Something different from the norm, but I like doing this sometimes.  I stamped a Darcie's branch and highlighted it some markers and pencils and then used PTI's All About You set for the sentiment.  The veils are just some scrunched up ribbon I taped to the back of the owl's heads.

Well.........it's been a long time since I've done a crafty-post. I should be able to get the rest of my projects posted this week!!!

Hope you had a great Labor Day Weekend!! I sure did!

Glad you're back! I think your card is fantastic. What a fabulous idea for two females getting married. So very cute.
Oh, that bowl of guilt free ice cream DOES sound good. Let me know where you find it.

Tee-hee, what a fun card! Perfect for the occasion! I love the two veils.

Have you tried dibs yet? The serving size is like 27, so I don't feel bad when I pop in the freezer for 3. It's almost guilt-free!
