With Sympathy

Sadly, I was in need of a few Sympathy cards and my friend Beth asked me to make one for her.  This Inkadinkado stargazer lily stamp had not seen ink since I bought it a few months ago.  I thought it would make a nice image for a sympathy card.

When I'm going to color up flower images - I will usually Google the flower - to see actual photos.  Now since stargazers are one of my favorite flowers, I really didn't have to look at a lot of flowers - but what the stamp doesn't have is all the dots on the petals.  So, after coloring the image up with my prisma pencils, I used a Sharpie and added the dots. It made such a change to the whole image.

I kept everything else pretty simple on the card.

As a side note - I drove 9 hours yesterday on my doggy transport and when I got home I was exhausted. This morning, I'm back up at the shelter walking dogs and working a Spay Day event until 5pm-ish - so when I get home - I will return my blog visits.

Thanks for your visit!

Your coloring is gorgeous! Very lifelike! Stargazer lilies are one of my favorite flowers, too. I think it has something to do with the fact that they are pink. Haha! Beautiful card! :)

You colour so very well, Maria! This card will surely bring lightness to the person who receives it. The flowers are lovely... and it is refreshing not to see just soft pastels in a sympathy card. I like the confidence with which you made it.
