Lily Pad Cards Ribbon Challenge

Lily Pad Cards is hosting a ribbon challenge on their blog.  On Friday - I decided to play along. I can't believe how quick this card came together, although it's still simple in design.

I decided to use a bunch of ribbon for this challenge.  First I looked in my die-cut stock and picked out this Sizzix sun.  I then checked out my orange/yellow ribbon and had a few ribbon choices.  So I measured out a piece of cardstock slightly bigger than the die cut and laid down strips of the red-line tape.

I exposed the tape and then laid down the ribbon over it.  I used my bone folder to really adhere the ribbon to the tape and then used the die cut to cut out the sun.  I did run it through the machine about three times, and 'most' of it cut, but some areas I had to use my scissor to release it from the cardstock.

Once the sun was done....I stamped out a bunch of Amuse clouds in PTI's fresh snow ink.  I cut a strip of yellow and embossed with the Cuttlebug swirl folder and added another ribbon on top.  I added a Hero Arts sentiment and a little bling.  Even though the sun is quite busy - it still was a little plain - so I added a PTI button with some embroidery twine.

Here's a closer picture of the sun.

This challenge runs until Thursday if you want to play!!

And just a PS to "Belinda" - you've kindly commented on a few of my card - and I've tried to return to your blog - but I'm not 'allowed' to view it.......so....I don't know how to return the favor!!

Thanks for your visit!

Ok, this is TOO COOL!! Love how you used all of that pretty ribbon on the sun die cut. Thank you for sharing such a fun tip. Can't wait to give it a try. Maybe it will help me use up the massive mount of ribbon I have stockpiled. Hee hee! The color combo just rocks and those little clouds are so fun. All around happy card! :)
