Shine Brightly!

Happy Friday to ya!  Hope your week is going well so far!  I had to make a graduation card and didn't want to use the traditional mortarboard again - so, when I came across the Lawnscaping Challenge#60, to use dimension - I knew exactly what I wanted to create:

I thought this made a creative 'graduation' card.  I stamped the lanterns on watercolor paper and colored them with my Distress Markers.  I used my Dylusions sprays on the background and then popped the lanterns up for the 'dimension'.

I'm also entering this card in the Sentimental Sundays Challenge#159 to use sprays/mists and
the Paper Players #150 to 'bring on the bling.'

On a side note.......I am ONE MONTH away from my 1/2 Marathon from Napa to Sonoma!  I'm also SO CLOSE to my fundraising goal (and why not try to EXCEED my goal??).  I'm running for Running for Rescues.

ABNH#22 - You are Original.......

Remember a few weeks ago.....I mentioned a second generation card on THIS POST?........well, I'm finally posting it! LOL

This background happened after heavily spraying a Hero Arts large floral background stamp with water and then laying it down on a Dylusion sprayed background. (Sounds confusing huh?)  On the original card I was using the water on the stamp to pull away color on the background.....so when I lift the stamp I had this beautiful array of color that I re-stamped for this background. Yummy!

I used a Simon Says Stamp embossed in white and added a few gems for the banner.  I'm entering this card in the A Blog Called Hero Challenge#22 - Freestyle

Hope you're having a great Saturday!!!!!!!

Tuesday Trigger - Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday to you! Hope you have something fun planned.  I was inspired to play along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Challenge. I haven't played in a while, but I thought the inspiration photo was awesome and an idea immediately popped into my head:

(Scroll down a bit to see the inspiration picture first............I'll wait..............)   OK - so the card is a bit 'brighter' than the inspiration but I really like it!

So for the background.........I cut down my watercolor paper to size and then heavily spritzed it with green and teal Dylusion inks.  I dried it a bit and then spritzed more and then to get a bit of floral on it, I took my Hero Arts Large Floral Background stamp (below) and heavily sprayed it with water. (The Dylusions react with water).  Then I stamped it down and held it there for a bit. I was able to get subtle outlines of the flowers.

I stamped a There She Goes butterfly and colored it in with Distress Markers, added some gold acrylic accents (her belt) for the butterfly's flight leading to a PTI sentiment.  I added the wonky ribbon to reflect the layers on the dresses neck.

Here's the Tuesday Trigger:

And....stay tuned because I was able to get a second generation impression of that large floral background....and it's cool!!!!!!

RS54 - Happy Birthday

Well, Hello!  Here with a card for the Retro Sketches Challenge#54.  This is a TALL card! About 11"
My friend gave me a thank you card that was in a beautiful (untouched) envelope - so I figured I'd recycle the envelope by making a card to fit!

When I saw the sketch - I knew this tall card would work perfectly! I used my DCWV glitter flower paper and a PTI diecut and sentiment.  I jazzed it up with two glitter brads and  then for fun I added some flicks of Dylusion sprays.

Hope you have a great day!!!!!!

CFC88 - love

Well, it's Friday and I'm pre-scheduling this post already!  I'm way ahead already this week! Yah!!!

Here's a card I made today for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge#88:
The challenge was to:  Use letters creatively in your CAS project - die cuts, alpha stamps or stickers etc.

So, pretty easy challenge when you've hoarded these Basic Grey letters for ummmmmm, maybe 5 years!?  I was so happy to be able to spell out the word LOVE - even if I did use a tag for the "O".

I put a base layer of Shabby Shutters on the card and inked the corners with Peeled Paint.  Then I flicked water on top for some movement and to get even more, I spritzed some Dylusions spray on top of that.

I popped the "O" up and then added heart on top and popped that up too!  I'm pleased with the result.

If you want to play - you have until Thursday at noon!

Thanks for your visit!

SDC85 - Home is where......

there's dog hair!  Soooooo true in my house!

I put together another journal page on Wednesday.  When I saw the Stampotique Designer's Challenge #85 was "Happy" - I knew I'd have to do a page about my dogs!

I stamped some There She Goes images and colored them with my Prisma pencils before gluing them down.

The sentiment is from Impression Obsession

Did any of you buy those impression stencils WAAAAAAY back from Sizzix?  Well, I did and I have a stack of them!  This medium gives me a way to finally use them!
See the paisley?  I laid the stencil down and pressed my modeling paste into it and yummy! Great dimension!

I'm still getting comfortable creating layers - but this was a fun page to do!  Thanks for looking!!

STB#1 - Happy Birthday

Hello again!!!!  Next card up is for the Seize The Birthday Challenge#1.  If you haven't heard of this challenge blog yet - it's pretty cool.  For the first week - you create a feminine card based on their sketch. The second week - you create a masculine card based on the same sketch.  I know I always need help with masculine cards - so I'm excited to have found this new challenge blog.

Here's my feminine card:

I recently got some Dylusions spray inks - so I wanted to try them out.  I embossed this Penny Black flower with white powder on watercolor paper.  Then I spritzed them with teal and blue inks.  It will take a bit to get use to the spray (and the blue fingers I went out to dinner with) - but I'm happy with the result!

I used a PTI sentiment that I bent to fit that layer and a PTI impression plate that I dotted with my white gel pen.

I added a few gems to the flower and dew drops to the right side!

OK - well - go check out this challenge blog if you haven't already!  Here's the sketch:

ONE more card to come!!!!!!!  See you again soon!
