Feel Better Blend

I'm playing along with the Moxie Fab Speech Bubble challenge and created this card using some PTI and Hero Arts stamps:

I had cut out this PTI tea kettle about two weeks ago trying to use it for another challenge.......but it just didn't work...........so it sat on my desk until this challenge.  I used my Simon Say Stamp Memory Box speech bubble die cut and PTI sentiment that I cut apart.

I created my own background using two different Hero Arts stamps. I just love the shape of those hearts!

To jazz it up just a bit, I used my Glossy Accents on the hearts and the tea kettle polka dots.

You've got until April 1st if you want to join this challenge!

Wishing you......

Here's another "Wishing You..." card I made last week.  This time using a Penny Black image and Distress Markers.

I kept the card quite simple but added some nice glitter to the flower.  Here's a close up:

FTL199 - Feel Better Soon

Good Morning to you!  I've got two CAS cards today following the Clean and Simple FTL#199:

I needed a few QUICK 'get well' cards for our fundraiser tonight (more on that below) - so I went with this layout and MFT stamps.  I quickly colored in the image with my Distress Markers.  Did I mention quick?

Here's the sketch:

Tonight - The Allyson Rioux Foundation is having a jewelry party at exhale mindbodyspa. I am also bringing my cards there to sell.  If you're local to Stamford - I hope you'll come!!

Just Chicken Up On You!

A friend of mine had surgery last week and was finally released from the hospital on Sunday.  I dropped  off a little basket to her along with this card:

Just a quick one-layer using MFT's Punny Farm set.  First off, I colored the background using three Distress Inks and then stamped out the birds and the sentiment.  I colored them up quickly with my prismas and then drew a little line to show the one chickie in motion.

It felt good to make a card after so long!!!    Have a great day!

More Memory Box.....

So, I'm not quite sure WHY I haven't purchased a pack of Memory Box papers, but I think after making a few cards from the loose papers I received in a giveaway at my LSS store...I will definitely be buying some.  They are just GORGEOUS!!!

Here are three cards I made using their papers, their notecards and one of their vintage record sheet stamps.

Cards are pretty self explanatory - but this first one is a card I sent to Cheryl at She Stamps while she's recovering from foot surgery.

The bird and butterfly stamps are from 7 Gypsies.

Thanks for popping in today!! Hope you have a great Tuesday!!!!  I'm off to bootcamp at 6:30am!

Thanks for your visit!

SSS119 - Thinking of You

First off - I want say THANKS! to those of you who've sent me messages regarding Layla. I was back at vet with her on Thursday. She's still got swollen legs and lymph nodes are swollen too. He took samples from nodes and I'm waiting on results.
*******************************************************************************************************************************

My cousin called me the other day to ask if I had any greyhound stamps.  He wanted to send a friend a card who's undergoing chemo and wanted to recreate his dogs on the card.  I grabbed my MFT dog set and stamped out two greyhounds.  My cousin sent me a picture of the two dogs, so I colored them up the best I could based on the picture.
I used The Sweet Stop Sketch #119 for the layout of the card.  And I added some dew drops that were so nicely sent to me by Cheryl!!!

Here's the Sweet Stop Sketch if you want to play along:

So - just a question..........does my card look blurry to you out there in blogland?  It looks fine to me on Picasa, but when I upload it for my post it looks blurry.  Not sure if it's my eyes....or something with my picture taking. I'd love to hear how you SEE my card :)

Thanks for your visit!

Get Well.......

Forgive this picture..........ugh......no amount of editing could help it.........but I wanted to post it anyway.  Cindy had surgery two weeks ago and I made this card for her.  I wish I could say I was proud of it...but it was just 'ehhh'.......so sorry Cindy!!!

I used the MFT set and it's been so long, that I forgot that I should of put the girl on a panel......so she's not just a 'headless' person standing on wood floor.  LOL

I obviously paper-pieced her robe and slippers and created the sentiment from a few MFT sentiments.

On a side note......I changed my browser from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome and WOW - what a difference in speed!!!  It's a little different navigating around, but I already like it SO MUCH BETTER!!!

PS:  Jim.... up & at 'em!!

Thanks for your visit!

Time to Relax

A co-volunteer of mine had surgery two weeks ago.  She's got a 6-week recovery, so I created this card for her and sent it off:
It's a little busy huh??  I think I got dizzy after I made it looking at all the patterns.  I actually followed a sketch for the layout, but now I can't remember which one!!

The couch is from PTI's "On my couch" set. I have the matching die which helps a lot!  Paper is from American Crafts.

I know she doesn't check my blog....but I want to wish my neighbor and friend Christine a Happy 40th Birthday today!!!

Thanks for your visit!

2S4Y #55 - Time to Relax...

Well, this is my first ever contribution to the Two Sketches For You (2S4Y) challenge. I've seen the links on a lot of the blogs I visit, but this my first time playing along.  I had a lot of fun with this sketch!  This card is for a fellow CT Humane Volunteer who just had surgery - hopefully she'll have some relaxation during her recovery!
99% of the card is from Papertrey Ink.  I grabbed the "On My Couch" set and die cuts to cut and stamp the chairs.  I used Everyday Blessings patterned paper and PTI ribbon.  The 1% not PTI, is the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder used behind the "plain" chairs. I wanted a little something to make those panels pop.  I added some pearl dimensionals to the pillows too!

I finally did it - after having my Two Peas In A Bucket "12 Weeks to Better Photos" printouts laying next to my computer - I FINALLY started reading through them!!!  First lesson is about aperture (or f/stop). Well, it's about how much of your photo is in focus and how much is out of focus, depending on your f/stop setting. So, we had to pick something stationery and play with our f/stops.  I picked my beautiful lilies to shoot and look what I caught in action!  A little bee flying to the flower!!! How cool !!!
Here he is landed on the flower.
My f/stop was set to low - so the main object (the flower) is in focus, while everything else is out of focus! One way for me to remember is: little f/stop = little in focus.   I'm learning!!!!!

Thanks for the visit today and I hope you have a Happy and Safe 4th of July weekend!!

Get Well

I whipped up this quick card from my 80 year old Uncle who recently took a tumble down a flight of stairs! Although he is doing well considering the circumstances, I thought I would send him a card to let him know I'm thinking of him.

I used my most favorite Denami Design stamps to create the little bird and saying. I colored the design in with prisma colored pencils and gelly roll pens. To give the card some interest. I used my Sizzix embossing tools to create the raised dots on the background paper.

This card was quick and fun! Thanks for looking!
