CTS#14 - Love you always

Well, it's Monday again!  I was able to get in some crafty time this weekend thanks to Blizzard Nemo!  Here's a card I made for CAS(E) This Sketch! #14:

Pretty simple card!  I embossed an Inkadinkado heart in white and then spritzed it with Dylusions.  I repetitively stamped the Kitchen Sink Stamps "xoxox" and added a KSS sentiment.  I DO have stamping on the pink circle and it showed up as I was stamping, but it mysteriously disappeared overnight! LOL.

You've got until Tuesday at noon to join in:

RS49 - Sorry for your loss

My friend asked for a doggy sympathy card and without knowing if it was a boy or girl dog - I made two cards using the Retro Sketches #49 layout:

I used a combo of Inkadinkado, There She Goes and Skipping Stones stamps.

Here's the sketch - but the challenge closes at 11:59pm CST today:

Have a great Friday!!!

SDC85 - Home is where......

there's dog hair!  Soooooo true in my house!

I put together another journal page on Wednesday.  When I saw the Stampotique Designer's Challenge #85 was "Happy" - I knew I'd have to do a page about my dogs!

I stamped some There She Goes images and colored them with my Prisma pencils before gluing them down.

The sentiment is from Impression Obsession

Did any of you buy those impression stencils WAAAAAAY back from Sizzix?  Well, I did and I have a stack of them!  This medium gives me a way to finally use them!
See the paisley?  I laid the stencil down and pressed my modeling paste into it and yummy! Great dimension!

I'm still getting comfortable creating layers - but this was a fun page to do!  Thanks for looking!!

Acetate Happy Birthday!

So, I finally purchased some acetate sheets thinking I'd be able to make a few clear cards this year. But it would of been wise to look at the weight of the acetate sheets before purchasing them!  Oh well........quite flimsy.........so I won't be able to make cards with them, but can make a lot of 'windows'.......so here's a window Happy Birthday card I made sometime over the weekend:

I started by stamping a Hero Arts stamp with StazOn on the acetate sheet.  For the background - I wanted to use up some of my glossy paper - so I swiped three Distress Ink pads across and then used a polka dot background stamp on top of that.

I created the window scene and used a Inkadinkado sentiment embossed in white on top.  Definitely something different and something that needs some more practice!

PS: Is anyone (beside's Amanda) having problems getting my blog feed via email? Not sure who subscribes via email vs reader.  Thanks!

Yup! Another Christmas Tag!

But this one was inspired by the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist challenge Ellen Hutson.  I watched Jennifer McGuire's video of stamping with acetate and mirror elements - so I wanted to try it.

Now I don't have the mirror stuff she used OR copics - so I made due with my acetate:
First off I cut watercolor paper & acetate using a Nestabilities die.  I cut the ridge off the acetate, so it was a little smaller than the die.
I stamped an Inkadinkado script stamp with StazOn on the acetate and put aside.

I white embossed the watercolor piece with Inkadinkado snowflakes and then did emboss resist with Barn Door Distress Inks.  Then I flicked some water with perfect pearls on top of that.

For the glitter snowflake - I punched the Marvy flake from cardstock and ran it through my Xyron.  Then poured glitter on the sticky side and burnished it in.  I added a fun button to the center of it.  I laid the acetate over the tag and added rhinestones to the center of the embossed snowflakes. Then to stick the acetate to the red layer - I put glue dots behind the rhinestones and the glitter snowflake.  Lastly - I added the eyelet for the ribbon hole!

Phew - lots of steps - but this might be one of my favorite tags of the  season :)

Have a great Saturday!!!

Quick Christmas Tag

Phew - I'm tired......it's 8pm on Monday writing this up and I really want to go lay on the couch - so here's a quick tag I made up this weekend using one of my 'new' Impression Obsession background stamps.

Black embossed and colored with Distress Inks - can't get much quicker than that. I 'think' I used an Inkadinkado sentiment but I'm too tired to go look!

Have a great day!!

WCMD & Penny Black Cards

TGIF!! Did all you card makers have fun with World Card Making Day last Saturday?  I was able to spend a lot of time in my craft room and ended up just focusing on the Penny Black blog.  I played along with their sketch challenges and made these 3 cards.

First up:
I did some watercoloring on the PB hydrangeas after punching the circles and embossing.  I painted the background panel and used a PTI impression plate on the card base.

Here's a combo of PB and Inkadinkado stamps and My Mind's Eye paper for the sketch.

Lastly, I used a PB brick stamp colored with Distress Inks.  Then I cut out the mice and gift and popped them up.

Enjoy the day :)

More Fall Cards

Are you getting tired of my Fall cards yet?  Hope not!  I've got two more to show you today and I'm going to finish out the week with more! Watch out!

I'm am still creating cards using the Impression Obsession leaf stamp that I stamped out last week. I guess I went a bit crazy huh?  But it was fun to use the stamp in different ways.

This first card used 'second generation' stamping on watercolor paper with my Distress Markers.   I cut out the image using my nesties and sponged a bit.
I layered that on glittery brown cardstock. Then used a PTI woodgrain impression plate and layered some color over that to give it some dimension.  Used up some scrap DCWV paper and a Studio G stamp and one more fall card was complete.

For the second card - I thought I'd try my hand a collaging..........which needs some PRACTICE!
I took a Tim Holtz tag and used a few different stamps to create the collage.  You can still see some of the Impression Obsession leaves floating around on the card.  The tag was so big, I ended up tearing the bottom off.

I stamped the card background with a Stampin' Up stamp I bought at my LSS 'consignment sale along with two PTI sets! SCORE!  You see that material on the card?  My hubby bought some new shoes and they came in these fabric bags, so I decided to use some of that on the card.

So - there are two more cards!  I'll be back with more :)

Multiple Sympathy Cards........

OK - if you don't want to be TOTALLY depressed today - you should skip my posting.  I have MULTIPLE pet sympathy cards to post. It was a tough week for my friends and their pets - so I decided to get them all posted in one post instead of depressing everyone for an entire week!

I ended up using a bunch of challenge sketches for some of these cards - so here we go:

My neighbor's had to put their boxer Dizzy down.  I made a CAS card for them using a MFT stamp and Hero Arts sentiment.  I tried coloring it to look like Dizzy too.

My other neighbor asked for me to make her a sympathy card for them too. I used the CPS#276 layout, Inkadinkado heart embossed in gold and a Skipping Stones sentiment:

That same neighbor needed yet another pet sympathy card for a co-worker. I used MojoMonday 252 layout and finally used some of my UTEE Powder I've had on my desk for about 8 months. I used it on the hearts.

Then, friend's had to put their 16 year old cat down.......jeesh- it was getting quite depressing in my craft room!  I used a MFP cat stamp colored in with my prisma pencils, HA sentiment and The Pink Elephant Sketch#159

Lastly, one of the employees at CT Humane had to put her dog down - so here's yet another card. I rec'd this digi stamp from a blog friend and thought it was perfect. Colored with my prisma pencils and used Stickles on the wings and halo.  Popped up a bunch of Sizzix clouds and embossed a HA sentiment. (PS: The Stickles weren't dry at the time of picture taking - so it looks a bit cloudy {no pun intended{)

Here are the sketches:

OK - so let's hope that's it for AWHILE!!!!  I promise - a happy card tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Bellarific Friday

Ooooh, it's Friday the 13th!!!  Do you have a problem with that??  I don't :)

It's also Bellarific Friday and this week was another sketch challenge.  Here's ANOTHER Stamping Bella image I colored up last week and made into a birthday card using an Inkadinkado sentiment.
Yep - Prisma Pencils again.  I also used a PTI wood grain impression plate and LOTS of edge distressing.

Here's the sketch I followed, which I turned on it's side:

Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!!!!

CPS170/PBSC206 - Hugs!

Wow! It's Friday already!!  The week goes by really fast when you pre-post!! LOL (it's actually only Tuesday when I'm writing this up!)

But, I've been lucky enough to have some craft time so I figured I'd get these posts done early!  This card follows the CardPatterns Sketch#170 and the Penny Black Saturday Challenge to use 5 circles.

I used a Penny Black stamp I received with my last order and colored it up with my prisma pencils.  I felt like Jill Foster inking up the edges and using the script stamp over the colored image like she does on the Penny Black Blog.  For the Penny Black challenge - you can see my five polka dot circles under the main image.

To add some dimension, I took my craft knife and cut around a few petals and leaves to lift them up Kinda neat!  My sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Here's the sketch:

Well - hope you have some fun things planned for the weekend!!!  Have a great day!

Thanks for your visit!

SSS163/Pin12 - "You say B*itch

likes it's a bad thing!!"

Yes! An afternoon post!!!  I was making a card for the {PIN}spirational #12 challenge and I needed a sketch. I found the Sweet Stop Sketch#163, but the challenges closes at 6pm tonight! So, I had to post it ASAP!  The additional challenge for Sweet Stop is to use textures.

A few of the 45 cards I made for last weekend's fundraiser uses this MFT poodle and the sentiment. One of the Board members requested one of them, so I had to remake it, but do more than a one-layer quickie.

After stamping the poodle, I used my black glossy accents to color in her 'puffs'  In real life the dimension is pretty cool.  I used my Hero Arts chevron stamps on the background and embossed it on the black panel too.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.  I added some 'bling' for more 'texture'.  Oh, and I used some orange twine for her leash and collar!

Here's the 'inspiration' picture:

And here's the sketch:

It's SO HOT here in CT!!!!  Spending the afternoon in the a/c was the best thing to do!!!

Oh.........and if you want to see what I was part of this morning..........we had a 'photo shoot' for the dogs and cats at CT Humane in Westport who are up for adoption.  I went to Michael's and bought a bunch of props and I assisted while one of the employees took the pictures!  How fun!!  (The pics were low resolution - sorry I couldn't make them bigger - but you'll get the gist!)
