STB#4 - Best Fishes

Happy Superbowl Sunday to you!!  Are you cheering for one of the contenders?  Not me - but we'll have fun gathering with friends and watching the commercials!! LOL

Today's card is for Seize the Birthday Challenge #4 - which is to make a 'masculine' card based on their sketch.

This is an Impression Obsession stamp that I cut up and layered.  For the 'water' portion of the stamp - I colored it in with Distress Markers and then heavily spritzed it with water so the colors would blend.
Then I colored up the fish with the same markers and popped him up on top.

I used two Cuttlebug embossing folders for dimension and embossed an IO sentiment in silver.  I added some glossy accents to parts of the fish and the bubbles and finished it off with some stars.

Here's the sketch if  you want to play along! You've got until Tuesday at noon!

Have a great day!!!!!!

STB#2 - Masculine Birthday

It's the second week of the Seize the Birthday challenge. This week is to make a masculine birthday card using the same sketch as last week.

Here's my card:

I started off by stamping and coloring this Stamping Bella image with my prisma pencils.  Then I masked the image and stamped a Penny Black brick background over it and colored that with Distress Inks.  I added a little more red prisma pencil to the bricks then some white highlights.  I stamped a PTI birthday sentiment on the brick.  I thought it would of been a bit more bold - but oh well!

I used Tim Holtz and Cuttlebug embossing folders and then sanded them a bit.  Some twine and a button and this masculine card is done!

Here's the sketch if you want to play:

CFC80-Dashing through the snow...

CAS-ual Friday's Challenge#80 is for clean and simple Christmas tag.  I made this one up during the week and it pretty much meets the challenge!  I absolutely LOVE it!!!

This is an Eat Cake Graphic stamp I used on Kraft and colored with my prisma pencils.  I stamped him on an angle of course so he's heading down the slope.  The top of the tag was a bit boring, so I embossed a cuttlebug swirl folder and added white ink.  To make the Amuse sentiment pop a little, I added score lines above and below.

That sledding looks like fun! I really have to go this winter!

Christmas Tag and PB Card

Hello All!
I've been crafting up some tags this week for my hubby's gift baskets.  He needs 30 of them, so I've been busy with those.

Here's one of the tags I made using some patterned paper:
Not much to explain about the tag except it looks better in person (LOL)
I'll enter this in the Stamping Royalty #152 Tag Challenge

I also made a card following the Penny Black Cute 2 Elegant sketch:

I'm embarrassed to say how long this CAS card took me!  I embossed the PB "Joy" stamp with green ink and clear powder.  Then embossed PB background with white powder.  I colored it in with Distress Markers and after that was all done - I added some perfect pearls to get a nice shine.  And...like the tag above - it looks better in person!  Oh well.......someday I'll take better pictures!

Hope you have a terrific day!!!

DD23/SFYTT- Oct - Happy Birthday

So Happy It's Thursday!  Are you?

I'll keep this short - here's a card I made for the Dynamic Duo's Challenge#23 and the October Sketch For You To Try:

I watercolored this PTI dahlia and leaves and layered it on some burlap I had on my desktop since making my fall wreaths.  I embossed with some swiss dots and drew some border lines with my white gel pen.

iPod card!

Happy Monday to you! Hope you had a really great weekend!  I got a lot of stuff done on Saturday and even made Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Chip cookies!  (VERY EASY to make and if you do make them - I added pecans and they were even better!!!)

On to the card! Another one I'm happy with (YAH!).  Our friend/neighbor Peg celebrated her 50th birthday on Saturday night.  A few friends went in on a gift together and ordered her an iPod Nano.  The new ones are coming out in October - so we didn't have the actual iPod to give her - so my hubby gave me a great idea to make an iPod card!

Here's what I came up with!

Obviously I attempted to recreate an iPod.  I layered papers to simulate the screen.  Then I stamped and cut out a Hero Arts apple.  I used my circle punch to punch out the side of the apple and masked off part of the apple with a post it and sponged on black soot Distress Ink.

I used a PTI sentiment and part of an arrow stamp for the reverse/play/forward keys at the bottom.
For the ear buds, I taped some thick twin to the front of the card and then cut four 7/8" circles. I dotted them with a marker to make the 'speakers' then cut a part of them off and glued them together.

For the inside - I printed off what the really one will look like and made that into a tag.  I stamped some music notes and used my Lawn Fawn letters for "It's on the way!"

And close up of other side:

This was another fun creation and I know Peg will appreciate the time and effort!

50th Anniversary Pop-Up Card!

Happy Sunday!!!!!!!!!!  Well, last night was my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary party  - so now - I get to show the card I made for them! I decided to do a pop up card and followed Darlene's instructions on her post (LOVE HER!)

It all started very elegant on the outside.  I used my Memory Box flower die and embossed the background with a PTI impression plate. Added a gold button to the center of the flower and used my Stamping Bella sentiment on a nesties die.

Then it went a bit a whimsical:
I wanted the red paper to represent the 'red carpet' this royal couple was standing on :)

I used the coordinating Stamping Bella stamp colored with my prisma pencils.  I added a Lawn Fawn banner and alphabet and then a There She Goes Ribbon die - embossed in gold.

Here's the side shot of the pop-up:

And a close up:
I used gold acrylic accents for their crowns and stickles for their 'diamonds'.  I had a lot of fun making this card!

But picture taking was quite a task.  I took pictures of the card on three separate days trying to get my 'best shots'.  One day - this is what I had to compete with:

Buddy would not get off so I could take the pictures! LOL

Hope you have a great Sunday!!!!!!!!!

Notecards

Hi Friends!  Just writing up a quick blog post this Wednesday morning.  Got some errands to do today so I'll keep it short!

I purchased this set of four stamps created by my friend - Prisma pencil extraordinaire Paula Williamson of Paper Possibilities and sold through Stamping Bella.

Since the images are small - I didn't want to use them on a regular A2 card - so I looked through my envelope stash and created these 2.5" x 5" set of cards using my Distress Markers on watercolor paper.

What do you think??

FMS46 - From this day forward

Happy Monday!  Did you have a fun weekend?  Hope so!  On Friday I came across the Freshly Made Sketches blog and decided to join their Sketch#46 challenge and the Recipe Swap all white challenge.

I also was inspired to make an ALL WHITE card, since I haven't made one of them in a LONG LONG time!  I'm quite pleased with the result:
I used a PTI impression plate for the card base, then a few Cuttlebug embossing folders for layers and then one Memory Box die and a PTI die for the flowers.  I used a long held onto rub ons for the sentiment.  Perfect for a wedding card!

I think I'm going to have to make a few more white on white cards. This was fun!

Have a great day!

Multiple Sympathy Cards........

OK - if you don't want to be TOTALLY depressed today - you should skip my posting.  I have MULTIPLE pet sympathy cards to post. It was a tough week for my friends and their pets - so I decided to get them all posted in one post instead of depressing everyone for an entire week!

I ended up using a bunch of challenge sketches for some of these cards - so here we go:

My neighbor's had to put their boxer Dizzy down.  I made a CAS card for them using a MFT stamp and Hero Arts sentiment.  I tried coloring it to look like Dizzy too.

My other neighbor asked for me to make her a sympathy card for them too. I used the CPS#276 layout, Inkadinkado heart embossed in gold and a Skipping Stones sentiment:

That same neighbor needed yet another pet sympathy card for a co-worker. I used MojoMonday 252 layout and finally used some of my UTEE Powder I've had on my desk for about 8 months. I used it on the hearts.

Then, friend's had to put their 16 year old cat down.......jeesh- it was getting quite depressing in my craft room!  I used a MFP cat stamp colored in with my prisma pencils, HA sentiment and The Pink Elephant Sketch#159

Lastly, one of the employees at CT Humane had to put her dog down - so here's yet another card. I rec'd this digi stamp from a blog friend and thought it was perfect. Colored with my prisma pencils and used Stickles on the wings and halo.  Popped up a bunch of Sizzix clouds and embossed a HA sentiment. (PS: The Stickles weren't dry at the time of picture taking - so it looks a bit cloudy {no pun intended{)

Here are the sketches:

OK - so let's hope that's it for AWHILE!!!!  I promise - a happy card tomorrow!!!!!!!!

RS22 - Live the life you've imaged

Hello!!!

A good friend and neighbor asked me to make a card for her to send to HER friend to celebrate 14 years of sobriety!  What a glorious achievement and that's the kind of friend she is - that she would continuously encourage her friend.

Since the Verve sentiment is the main 'image', I decided to use a lot of texture on the card.  I followed the Retro Sketches 22 layout and two Cuttlebug embossing folders.  I embossed the sentiment with white powder and then added some score lines.  You can't really see the texture on the button, but it is linen.

Here's the sketch:

Just a quickie post today - but I hope she's happy with it as well as the recipient!

Have a great day!

She's Expecting

I'm NOT expecting.................but 'She's Expecting"!!!!!!!!!  I didn't want anyone to get too excited!!  I needed a card for a baby shower and I was running out of time last week - so I grabbed my baby themed paper and a Studio G stamp and was able to put this card together.

Nothing too fancy but I did color in my clear gems with a purple Sharpie to get the color I needed!!

Super quick post today!!!!  Have a great day :)

SFYTT July - Sympathy

Happy Hump Day!  I've had a hard time getting the time to write this post up!  I was also running out of time to get my card done for the Sketch For You To Try July Challenge - but I made it!

I actually had the main image done for about two weeks, but it sat on my desk, sat and sat some more until I decided to cut part of the image off to match the sketch.  I also came across the Catered Crop "Washi's Up" challenge to use washi tape and thank goodness that Cheryl enabled me to get some so I could play along!

I embossed the Penny Black image in white powder, then used some Distress Inks to color the background.  I added a Hero Arts plaid stamp over that image and then used my Nestie to cut it out and added a scalloped Nestie behind that.

My washi tape is the chevron patterned that I laid on top of navy cardstock and then embossed a panel w/ my Cuttlebug folder. I finished off the card with a PTI sentiment.  And - yes - I tried sewing again! Not TOO bad, but I REALLY need to practice more!!!

Here's the sketch - you still have a few more days to enter!!

Have a great day!!
