Muse#26 - Friendship Owls

Darlene made me do it!  Yup - she made me purchase this Stampin' Up Owl punch.  I mean - if you go to her blog and see what she creates with it - she'll make you buy it too!!!

Here's what I came up with:

I just love these little guys!  She even created wings from a scallop punch - so I snagged that idea from her too!

I used my Impression Obsession tree branch/leaf dies for these guys to be chillin' out on.  I should of done a bit more on the background, but these three amigos have been sitting on my craft desk for about two weeks waiting their turn, so I really just wanted to finally put them to use!  The sentiment is from Inky Antics.

Whattia think? You tempted to make a purchase? (Make sure to go see Darlene's blog!)

I'm entering this card in the Muse Challenge#26

Tag wrap up post!

OK - I've about had it with tags!! LOL  So, today, I'm posting the remaining ones I made for my hubby's gift baskets:

Hero Arts reindeer embossed in black and colored with Distress Markers on watercolor paper.

Memory Box dies cut from green & red paper and Memory Box santa again embossed in black and colored with Distress Markers

Easy Peasy - Inky Antics stamp colored with Distress Markers

Lastly, this one I laid down red/white striped washi tape across tag leaving space in between.  Then I used green Distress Markers and perfect pearls for a nice shine between washi tape. I stamped sentiment on a thick vellum and wrapped around. Finally, embossed a Memory Box image and added bling for the lights.

If you're up for some more pictures...........here's how the basket-filling process went.
I'll remind you......I had to do THIRTY of them.

Fresh from the store:

Fresh from the grocery store.  Yes - I wish I was an extreme coupon-er at this point!

Packed up!

OK - had to call in the reserves.  Mom is a PRO at cellophane wrap. So, I continued to pack the baskets and the pro wrapped them!!!

Buddy was NO HELP!!!

Ta-Dah!!!!!!!!

Completed!!!!!!

Have a wonderful Monday!!!!! I hope to get around for blog visits today!!!!!

ABNH#2 - Hay There

Challenge # 2 is up at A Blog Named Hero.  This challenge is to use a window on your card.  I would of LOVED to use Hero Arts stamps for this challenge........but my Inky Antics stamps won out in the end!

I got a new Impression Obsession background stamp that reminded me of chicken wire...so I wanted to use my chicken stamp!

I created my window from a Nestability die.  Then I adhered my 'chicken wire' layer behind it popping it up.  I stamped the hay directly on the card front and cut out my chicken and placed him on top of the hay, but also popped him up on the chicken wire layer.

He definitely needed a bit more, so I added a balloon covered with glossy accents and then used a tag for the sentiment.  I added a birthday greeting inside.

I also used a woodgrain stamp on the front, but it would of been a whole lot easier if I stamped it BEFORE adding the chicken wire panel!  So....stamping the wood after proved to be a challenge. (duh!)

Here's the challenge:

LIM 51 - Special Blessing

Sunday was a crafty day for me after taking Nolie and Buddy to the park for a hike in the snow.  I checked out a few challenges and decided that I wanted to take part in the Less Is More Week 51 challenge.  The challenge was to make a card with a cut out.  This was the second card I made on Sunday - so I actually used a scrap piece from tomorrow's card for one of my main elements.

Here's the card:
I was playing around with my Distress Inks and water color paper and ended up with the main panel on the card. I took my Sizzix heart die and die cut that piece and the main card.  I shaded the heart so the color transferred to inside the card and I trimmed the right side of the card adding the scallop edge.

I finished it with an embossed Inky Antics stamp and added a few hearts and bling!

You have until Friday to play along with the Less Is More challenge!

Inky Antics Christmas

Hello!!!   I received this Inky Antics stamp a few years back as a freebie.  I don't think I ever colored it up until now!!!  I know of one blogging friend who just LOVES snowmen, so I made sure to send her a card with this image on it.

I wanted to keep the card pretty flat for mailing, so I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder for dimension and added a few snowflake brads.  I used my Distress Inks to color in the image onto watercolor paper.

I also wanted to share our 2011 Christmas card that we mailed out. (Sorry for the picture quality)
.

And, what you can't see is on the reverse is a picture of Layla and it says: "From Heaven above, Layla sends her love."

Craft Show Week - Day 4

Hello and welcome back to Craft Show week at Crafty Cre8tions!!!   Today I'm showing some gift packages that would be well received by someone who likes to cook!!

First up is a recipe book with matching recipe cards inside.  I picked up these wooden tools and measuring spoons at M's.  I stamped out this Inky Antics image on watercolor paper and colored in with Distress Inks.  To match the sentiment - I added a pillow box that I stamped with a Hero Arts fork/spoon stamp for a gift card to be added by the giver!

This gift set is pretty much a duplicate of above but has a recipe box with matching cards inside instead.  I added another pillow box for a gift card to be added by the giver.

Hope you're enjoying our craft fair items!!!

Update and a new card!

Thank you for those who posted well wishes for Hurricane Irene.  We weathered the storm pretty well. LOTS of branches down and one BIG limb took out 1/2 my NEW dog kennel.  So, we'll have to cut up that limb and reattach the fencing.  We lost power at about 6am on Sunday morning and are still without it now (5pm Sunday night).  Our friend came and hooked up a generator about 3:30pm, so our fridge and internet are working while it's running.  Estimates for power are up to a week away - so we'll see how we fare with that.

So, since I have internet, I figured I'd set up a post for Monday morning and make some blog visits!

Last week I colored up more Inky Antics images.  This gal speaks the truth!

At least it's the truth when I attempt to cook!  I made a second card using same image/paper and that sentiment reads "If at first you don't succeed, order take out" - which is another motto I could live by (and I do!)  Most times, we just go straight for the takeout!

The day I finished making these cards, my husband decided he wanted to try cooking bronzini (a whole Italian fish).  He had me prepare it for the grill, and I knew at that point I wasn't eating it!  Then he cooked it and took a bite and pushed it to the side as well.  I told him about the "order takeout" card and we had a good laugh!

I colored this gal up with distress inks again on watercolor paper. I COOL tip I saw on the Inky Antics blog was to add 'eye' color to the image's eyes.  If you click on the picture, you'll see I gave her blue eyes!  I'm so happy I saw this tip!

Off to see what everyone else has been up to on their blogs!  Hope you have a great Monday!

CPS231 Inky Antics "Cheers"

Yesterday was Cheryl (She Stamps) birthday and I colored up this image and sent it to her last week. Thankfully she got it in time for her birthday!   It's been a while since I colored up an Inky Antics image and I decided to stamp on watercolor paper and use my Distress Inks.  My favorite ink for watercoloring!

I also used last weeks Card Pattern's Sketch # 231:

My paper is from American Crafts and the sentiment is from Friskars.  You can't tell in the picture, but I used glossy accents on the martini glass!  Hope you had a great day Cheryl!!!!

Hope your day is full of sunshine!!!!

Our Friday will be full of sunshine and HEAT!!!! Along with a lot of the country!  Holy hotness!!!  I think we should be getting a break on Saturday from this heat.  Even the pool isn't refreshing, but.....doesn't Lulu look refreshed?  (nice lead in huh?)........

This is another image I colored up last week and I'm finally getting it onto the blog.  I think the Lulu's are my favorite Stamping Bella stamps.  Lulu is colored with my prismas and I did something different......I embossed her with clear powder afterwards so I could sponge all around her.  It looks pretty neat in person.   I used paper from my DCVW Citrus pack (still love these papers!) and a sentiment from Inky Antics.

So.......Pinky is back at CT Humane and up for adoption!  She lost 10 lbs with us and the vet wants her to lose another 5 lbs, which I think will be hard for her.........but I pray a special family comes along to adopt this special girl!!!  The house is VERY quiet this Thursday afternoon that I'm writing this post!!  She's definitely a bundle of energy, but a sweet sweet dog! And talented......here she has a lacrosse ball AND a soccer ball in her mouth!

Hope you have a terrific day and I want to wish my friend Leslie.....a Happy 40th Birthday today!!!

Thanks for your visit!

Mojo 180 & Bellarific Friday - Hope your day is full of sunshine!

TGIF everyone!!!! I hope you have some wonderful weekend plans coming up! I know I do! (more on that at bottom of post).

Well, it's Bellarific Friday and this week's challenge was "Aquamarine".  Not quite sure if my picture shows the aquamarine in my card, but it's there in real life!  Isn't this kitty cute...all ready for the beach :)
Ms. Kitty is colored in prisma pencils. I added glitter on the beach and the ocean and glossy accents to her glasses.  The sentiment is from Inky Antics.  And....the seaglass above the sentiment is from my November vacation in St. Lucia - plucked right off the beach!!!

The card layout is from Mojo Monday Sketch #180.  Here they are if you want to try!

So - I'm going to be missing for a while from my blog! We're off to sunny South Beach, Miami today to celebrate our friend's 40th birthdays!! From Miami, hubby flies home, and I fly to Orlando to spend the week with Sacred Heart University Softball Team (my alma mater) for their spring training trip! I'll be gone the entire week! Yah...but I'll miss my hubby and my dogs :)

I'll have a few posts set up automatically - but again, please be patient with my return blog visits for those who make comments!!

Go SHU Pioneers!!!

Yup....more tags......

Well, my husband liked my holiday tags and asked me to make 15 for his client's gifts this year. So, I went back to work on more tags.  I made two of each style...so again......I'll be posting what I created.
This time, I used one of my Nesties for the tag bases and just punched a hole in the top for the ribbon.  I went back and looked through my stamps and found this Inky Antics snowman. This was a freebie I received from Inky Antics over the summer after placing an order - so he was in need of some ink!

I used Marvy markers for quick coloring and stickles for the snow.  I finished it off by stamping a Hero Arts background snowflake stamp.  There's a lot of shine on the tag that the camera doesn't pick up.  This was a nice and simple one-layer tag!  More to come!

Mootastic Thank-You!

The first week in August had me busy making thank-you cards for all the wonderful gifts I received for my birthday!

The first thank-you card I made was for my sister-in-law Amy! She just loves cows so much her nickname is Moo! Actually I think her nick name came first and then her love for cows. None the less, Maria was kind of enough to stamp this cute little cow out for me. Of course I colored it in using prismacolor pencils and gamsol! I didn't really have any exciting sediments to use so I printed out the cute little thank-you at the top! I mounted it on purple paper that I embossed with dots using my sizzix machine.

I know Amy will think the card is "moo"tastic! Hope your having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday from the whole flock......

Here's is a card I made for our friend Ed for his birthday! It's an Inky Antics image colored with Prisma pencils and gamsol. (Sorry for the crooked picture - trying to work on that!)

I used DCWV paper, a PTI button and an Inkadinkado sentiment. This is actually a postcard - not a card that opens - so something a little different!

I've been taking some more pictures and took these two fun ones on the 4th of July. I was using my highest/fastest shutter speed (1/1000) to get these action shots.

This is Sammy being thrown in the air by his dad and my hubby:
And, here's my hubby doing a cannon ball - look at that intensity on his face!!

Inky Antics......

I'm having so much more fun coloring with my Prisma pencils since taking Paula's class in Toronto. Images are taking me a bit less time to color and I'm definitely blending more than before.  Today I'm posting two cards I made with the same Inky Antics image. I love this lady!  She seems so happy, but also a little snarky with her duster and paper towels!

I had bought two new sentiments from Repeat Impressions back in February and I finally inked them up!  They both crack me up.

The paper is from ProvoCraft - Rob & Bob Studio. I've had it for a while, but it makes for nice coordination.  On the second card I used a Martha Stewart punch that you can weave ribbon through that my mom found at Marshall's for $4.99!!!  Gotta love that!

Well, hope you have a great Friday and a terrific weekend. I've got a post set up for Sunday - so see you again then!

Happy New Year!!!!

Happy New Year!!! Hoping you all had a nice celebration last night! We had a quiet night - just like we like it! Order great food from one of our favorite restaurants and had 11 of our friends and family over for dinner and playing the Wii!!! Lots of laughs playing the Wii!

To celebrate the New Year....here's a toast to everyone! This is an Inky Antics image colored with prisma pencils and blended with gamsol. Doesn't she look happy drinking her apple martini!
I used paper from my new paper pack - American Crafts "Letterbox" that I found at Home Goods for $7.99!!! I looked on line and these packs sell for $19.99!!! SCORE! I don't think you can see it from my picture but the striped paper has glitter on it and the flower paper has raised flowers on it.

I used my Martha Stewart border punch, Marvy oval and scallop oval punches along with PTI's Celebrate stamp with dotted oval stamp. I finished it off with three Studio G mini margarita stamps. It's too bad the "bling" of this card doesn't come across in the picture - because it really "makes" the card!

Well, again...Cheers to YOU for a wonderful New Year and a Happy Birthday greeting to my cousin Tracy today!!!

Craft Fair Products - Wine Tags

Well, it's Halloween night and we don't get many trick-or-treaters here at our house....and my internet connection is finally corrected...so here I am updating the blog :)
I made these wine gift tags for our upcoming craft fair. Instead of using a gift bag for the wine, these tags can be slipped over the bottle for a hostess gift.

I used the Inkadinkado holiday clear stamps and Inky Antics for these wine tags. I think they are a great option instead of a foil wine bag. What do you think?? Thanks for visiting!
