Sunflower Shower Finale!

I attended a bridal shower last week and since the invitation was so pretty - I thought I'd make a card to match.  I was pleased to see that there were a TON of sunflowers at the shower - so my card definitely matched the theme!

I used a Rubber Stampede image a few times around the edges and a PTI sentiment on vellum:

Here's the invite and my card:

And since this is the final day of the blog for a bit........here's an extra card I made and wanted to post using my favorite Hero Arts stamp and Inktense pencils.  I used some acetate for the sentiment so it didn't take away form the image:

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to those of you who have followed my blog and been kind enough to comment on my postings!  And a bigger Thank You for those of you who have ordered from me!

I will continue to make custom cards and/or projects for anyone who needs something - so feel free to email me at  maclovello @ yahoo .com

SSSC Joy's Inspiration - Happy Birthday

And...........it's Monday again.........Hope you had a great weekend!!  Here's a birthday card I created on Thursday (spent the entire day crafting!) for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge "Joy's Inspiration":

This is a Rubber Stampede image stamped on water color paper and once again, colored in with Distress Inks.   On Thursday, I watched a video by Julie Ebersole and she did the 'out of the box' technique and so I copied her on this card.

I used a PTI sentiment and another mini stamp from PTI along the edges.  The card looks much better in person......hopefully my recipient will like it!!

Here's the inspiration photo:

Note:  It's 1:15 AM and 'editing' my post.  My mind wouldn't shut off until I got up and added this info.  If you're a regular blog reader, you know I try to spread the word on dog rescue and am involved in trying to rescue dogs.  Tonight on HBO at 9pm (EST) is a show called "One Nation Under Dog" about the world of dog rescue. The good, the bad, and I'm sure the ugly.  I think it will be a VERY informative show on what goes on in puppy mills (where pet store and internet-sold dogs come from), shelters, and the world of dog rescue.  I'll have my box of tissues with me because I'm sure it won't be easy viewing...but again - if this info reaches one person who gets a little more educated on the subject, then my lack of sleep will be worth it.   Thanks.

Have a great day!!!

CAS Sympathy Cards

Have you checked out Susan's Simplicity blog yet?  She is just the master of Clean and Simple cards. I am a blog subscriber and just love what she does with minimal work!  She and another gal have One-Layer Wednesday challenges and last week was 'overlapping' - so although I'm late in the challenge...I still wanted to show the cards I made:

I tried a few combinations using There She Goes flower stamps and my Rubber Stampede sentiment. Not quite sure that I really LOVE my color combinations, but I do LOVE the speed in which these cards got done!!

Hope you're having a great day!!!

Lucy's Cards - Sketch Week Day#4

I'm back again with another sketch from Lucy's Cards.  This is sketch Day #4 and it was actually the first sketch of hers that I saw.

This card will be sent out to a birthday recipient who can't be named yet.
It had been a while since I used my prisma pencils and I wanted to color up this Mo Manning stamp.  I pulled out the $3.00 clearance DCWV paper pack my mom found at Marshalls and made my choices.  I had actually cut out my image before finding the sketch, so I couldn't adhere to the oval, but...again, there's no sketch police as far as I've seen! (And I'm a big violator when it comes to sticking to the exact sketch).

Anyways, I added a PTI sentiment and grounded it with a pawprint brad.  Here's the sketch if you want to use it!

Oh, and here's a second card I made using a Rubber Stampede stamp since I had everything out.

Tuesday night we got DUMPED on again with about 20" of snow!! We took the girls out for a walk down the street and we couldn't even see Nolie in the snow!!  Then, as Frank was shoveling a walkway in our courtyard, I took my Flip camera and shot a few videos.  Here's  Nolie and Lily playing in the deep snow!
Enjoy!!

Happy 20th Anniverary!

Our friend's Carol and Pat celebrated their 20th anniversary yesterday. (or their 7,305 days together - counting leap years!!).  When we were in Hilton Head for John and Julie's wedding, Carol mentioned that she loves sunflowers.........so I shot myself a quick email to remind me to make her a sunflower anniversary card when I got home.  I grabbed my Rubber Stampede stamp and made this card:
I got my inspiration from Theresa Momber's Fanciful Vase card. She amazes me with her work!  I also colored up my sunflowers with distress inks and an aqua painter on watercolor paper. That was a different technique for me and I love it!

The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I used my Nesties and Swiss Dots folder.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Cherry Blossoms

This is one of the first flower stamps I ever bought. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it on the store shelf. It's a Rubber Stampede cherry blossom stamp, which I colored with my prisma pencils and gamsol. I actually found some cherry blossom ribbon at Michaels the other day, that I was 'supposed' to use with this card...but when I put it up against the (almost) finished card...it was too much....so that ribbon will have to wait!
I used a MFT sentiment on the card above and a PTI sentiment on the one below. I also turned the branch so it came from the opposite direction of the top card.
Well, that's it for today!! Thanks again for visiting the blog. I appreciate the time you took to come and take a look!!!
As a side note....I want to wish Christine (my neighbor and friend) a Happy Birthday!
