Gift Card Pillow boxes

Hello!!!!!!  I hope all my reader's had a wonderful Christmas!!  I ran out of time before Christmas to post these quick gift card pillow boxes I made:

Using some premade pillow boxes, I punched out some snowflakes from a Recollection's paper pack.  Threaded some ornaments I had on hand and then adhered them with glossy accents!  Made for quick work - which is exactly what Santa called for!!!

Be back tomorrow with a mixed media project!!!

Christmas Ornaments

I saw THIS post about making glitter ornaments and knew it was something to try!  I made a few on my own and then decided to have my neighbor ladies over for a last minute holiday craft night on Wednesday!

Everyone brought a little something to snack on and Marion made a drink called the frosty snowman! Yumm it was GOOD! I wish I took a picture, but we were all just chatting it up so much I forgot to grab my camera at times!

Here are a few shots from the night: (bare with me - they were taken on my cell phone)

Christine brought some peppermint bark:

Dolores brought some muffins

Peggy brought these cute napkins and pretzel Rolos (YUM!)

After some wine and 'frosty snowmen' - we got down to crafty business!

Had some laughs along the way!

Christine is shakin' her glitter ball!

Dolores showing off her red and gold masterpieces!

Peggy showing off her festiveness and completed ornament!

And here are some close-ups:

So much fun!  Just wish I knew how to photograph the ornaments better! LOL.  Go to the link at the top of the page and check out her ornaments! Ours look JUST like them!!!!!!  :)  ha ha

TSOT#97 - Merry Everything

Hi Bloggy Friends!

Christmas is coming up fast!!!!!!  I'm trying to get a few more things done!  What I did get done is this Christmas card using Penny Black's Mimi and I used the Try Stamping on Tuesday Sketch# 97:

I paper pieced her hat, jacket and scarf and used my Prisma pencils for the rest.  Once I put the card together, I used my white Acrylic Accents to fill in all the snow flakes.

Here's the sketch if you want to play:

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamps Challenge!

Last night, I had my neighborhood gals over to make glitter ornaments. (I'm writing this up on Wednesday before they get here) - so I can just imagine what my craft room looks like today!!!

I'll post a few pictures on Friday!

Santa Teddy

Hello!!  Today's just a quick post showing another Christmas card I made using a Stamping Bella image:

Does the paper look familiar?  Yes - same paper as yesterday's card - since I only have one Christmas paper pack! LOL  Might have to change that if I run to Michaels!

For this card I did the "out of the box" technique - see how his bag is off the Nestie die cut?  I like this technique, but I don't know why I can never remember HOW to do it! Always takes me so long once I decide that I want to do it. YKWIM?

Anyway - he's colored with my prisma pencils and has a lot of glitter on the 'white' parts of his outfit.  It was a rainy day when I took the picture - so once again - not the best showing of the card!

SB#25 Friday Sketch - Merry Christmas

Hello!! I'm sure you noticed it's 12/12/12 today right?  Wonder what's in store for us today with that fun date!?

Well, what's in store for you is a doggy Christmas card I colored up on Sunday!  This is for Friday's Stamping Bella sketch challenge.

I started coloring this image up and then my friend came over who has a black labradoodle.  She asked if I could make a card for her vet - so I showed her what I was working on and she thought it was perfect!!

This was fun to color up.  I used a lot of pencil 'whisps' to get the hair dimension. I even used a black pen to make them even more bold.  There are random gems on the snowflakes too!

Here's the sketch if you want to play along:

To stay on the doggy theme - here's are two quick pictures of the Puppy Chow I made last week.  I got the recipe from Iowa Girl Eats and then had to laugh when the recipe is right on the Chex box too!

Believe me - I know these bags are NOT decorated like a crafty person SHOULD decorate them....but after making THREE different recipes (peanut butter, Nutella and soy nut butter) of them......I'd had enough :)    I did use my Lawn Fawn alphabet for the lettering :)

Well - hope you have a nice Wednesday!!

Tag wrap up post!

OK - I've about had it with tags!! LOL  So, today, I'm posting the remaining ones I made for my hubby's gift baskets:

Hero Arts reindeer embossed in black and colored with Distress Markers on watercolor paper.

Memory Box dies cut from green & red paper and Memory Box santa again embossed in black and colored with Distress Markers

Easy Peasy - Inky Antics stamp colored with Distress Markers

Lastly, this one I laid down red/white striped washi tape across tag leaving space in between.  Then I used green Distress Markers and perfect pearls for a nice shine between washi tape. I stamped sentiment on a thick vellum and wrapped around. Finally, embossed a Memory Box image and added bling for the lights.

If you're up for some more pictures...........here's how the basket-filling process went.
I'll remind you......I had to do THIRTY of them.

Fresh from the store:

Fresh from the grocery store.  Yes - I wish I was an extreme coupon-er at this point!

Packed up!

OK - had to call in the reserves.  Mom is a PRO at cellophane wrap. So, I continued to pack the baskets and the pro wrapped them!!!

Buddy was NO HELP!!!

Ta-Dah!!!!!!!!

Completed!!!!!!

Have a wonderful Monday!!!!! I hope to get around for blog visits today!!!!!

Yup! Another Christmas Tag!

But this one was inspired by the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist challenge Ellen Hutson.  I watched Jennifer McGuire's video of stamping with acetate and mirror elements - so I wanted to try it.

Now I don't have the mirror stuff she used OR copics - so I made due with my acetate:
First off I cut watercolor paper & acetate using a Nestabilities die.  I cut the ridge off the acetate, so it was a little smaller than the die.
I stamped an Inkadinkado script stamp with StazOn on the acetate and put aside.

I white embossed the watercolor piece with Inkadinkado snowflakes and then did emboss resist with Barn Door Distress Inks.  Then I flicked some water with perfect pearls on top of that.

For the glitter snowflake - I punched the Marvy flake from cardstock and ran it through my Xyron.  Then poured glitter on the sticky side and burnished it in.  I added a fun button to the center of it.  I laid the acetate over the tag and added rhinestones to the center of the embossed snowflakes. Then to stick the acetate to the red layer - I put glue dots behind the rhinestones and the glitter snowflake.  Lastly - I added the eyelet for the ribbon hole!

Phew - lots of steps - but this might be one of my favorite tags of the  season :)

Have a great Saturday!!!

Impression Obsession Tag

Happy Thursday!!!  Hope you're week is flying by!

Are you getting tired of the tags?  I promise - there's a card tomorrow :)

Here's another quickie tag using some more 'new' Impression Obsession dies and stamps:

For the tag background, I used my IO newspaper print stamp with Distress Inks.  Then adhered the IO tree die cut.  I wanted the tire swing to be popped up, so I threaded some thread through the tag and looped it around the popped up tire.  For the snowy effect - I used liquid pearls on the tree and sprinkled glitter while it was wet. Then added more bling :)

Here's a close up:

More Christmas tags

I'm continuing to make tags for my hubby's gift baskets.  Here are three vibrant ones:

After cutting the tags from my Sizzix die, I colored them with Distress Inks and then used a Stampendous music stamp for the background.  Then I used Hero Arts owls and branch and paper pieced their scarves.

Lastly I embossed a Recollections sentiment and added that to the tag. More More More to come!

Quick Christmas Tag

Phew - I'm tired......it's 8pm on Monday writing this up and I really want to go lay on the couch - so here's a quick tag I made up this weekend using one of my 'new' Impression Obsession background stamps.

Black embossed and colored with Distress Inks - can't get much quicker than that. I 'think' I used an Inkadinkado sentiment but I'm too tired to go look!

Have a great day!!

CFC80-Dashing through the snow...

CAS-ual Friday's Challenge#80 is for clean and simple Christmas tag.  I made this one up during the week and it pretty much meets the challenge!  I absolutely LOVE it!!!

This is an Eat Cake Graphic stamp I used on Kraft and colored with my prisma pencils.  I stamped him on an angle of course so he's heading down the slope.  The top of the tag was a bit boring, so I embossed a cuttlebug swirl folder and added white ink.  To make the Amuse sentiment pop a little, I added score lines above and below.

That sledding looks like fun! I really have to go this winter!
