Yup! Another Christmas Tag!

But this one was inspired by the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist challenge Ellen Hutson.  I watched Jennifer McGuire's video of stamping with acetate and mirror elements - so I wanted to try it.

Now I don't have the mirror stuff she used OR copics - so I made due with my acetate:
First off I cut watercolor paper & acetate using a Nestabilities die.  I cut the ridge off the acetate, so it was a little smaller than the die.
I stamped an Inkadinkado script stamp with StazOn on the acetate and put aside.

I white embossed the watercolor piece with Inkadinkado snowflakes and then did emboss resist with Barn Door Distress Inks.  Then I flicked some water with perfect pearls on top of that.

For the glitter snowflake - I punched the Marvy flake from cardstock and ran it through my Xyron.  Then poured glitter on the sticky side and burnished it in.  I added a fun button to the center of it.  I laid the acetate over the tag and added rhinestones to the center of the embossed snowflakes. Then to stick the acetate to the red layer - I put glue dots behind the rhinestones and the glitter snowflake.  Lastly - I added the eyelet for the ribbon hole!

Phew - lots of steps - but this might be one of my favorite tags of the  season :)

Have a great Saturday!!!

Thanks for your visit!

Celebrate the Season Tag

What can I say about this tag....hmmmm, non-traditional colors?  Red and Turquoise?  Not really sure how it came about....but it started with the ribbon.  I knew I wanted to use the ribbon and I had the Studio G snowman stamp.
He had to have a red hat and scarf....and I kept interpreting the snow as blue...and it ended up kind of turquoise......so, I just went with it.  I embossed the tag base with my Cuttlebug folder. Then cut a scallop circle out of red with my Marvy punch.  To jazz it up a bit, I used my hole puncher and punched holes just inside of the scallops.  I colored the snowdrift and added clear stickles.

I stamped out an Inkadinkado ticket stamp and colored in to match.  Regarding the ribbon, I didn't want the backside of the ribbon to show, or have the snowman upside down, so I ended up stapling the ribbon to the tag and I got what I wanted :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Yup....more tags......

Well, my husband liked my holiday tags and asked me to make 15 for his client's gifts this year. So, I went back to work on more tags.  I made two of each style...so again......I'll be posting what I created.
This time, I used one of my Nesties for the tag bases and just punched a hole in the top for the ribbon.  I went back and looked through my stamps and found this Inky Antics snowman. This was a freebie I received from Inky Antics over the summer after placing an order - so he was in need of some ink!

I used Marvy markers for quick coloring and stickles for the snow.  I finished it off by stamping a Hero Arts background snowflake stamp.  There's a lot of shine on the tag that the camera doesn't pick up.  This was a nice and simple one-layer tag!  More to come!

Christmas Card

Well, I guess I took Sunday-Tuesday as the days of rest from my blog postings!!! But now I'm back for a few days of cards.
After cutting some bases for other cards, I had some odd size sheets left over, so I decided to make some square cards, but ones that would fit into a regular A2 envelope.

I started with the snowflake paper from the Hobby Lobby Xmas pack and colored in the centers with green.  I punched out two Marvy snowflakes and covered them with fired brick distress ink and spritz with water and perfect pearls for a nice shine. I measured out 5 1/2" and placed the snowflakes accordingly on the side of the card. Added a snowflake 'bing' and some ribbon I had.  Nice and easy!!

Hope you're having a great day. It's freezing in CT and I just spent 2 hrs walking the shelter dogs, then a 1/2 hour outside with my dogs and my neighbor's dogs and I'm just thawing out!

Off to work out....so I'll be sweating in 10 minutes!!
